OT-"Chosen"

Again, for all those that are interested in my witty and urban 
prose, here are my thoughts on the BtVS final episode "Chosen"

Stuff that was cool;

-Willow going all White Tara and changing the nature of 
Slayerdom in the world. 

-Angel taking rejection like a man, unlike certain vamps.

-Buffy's slayer scythe. I just love that thing! (Even though it's 
really an battle axe, not a scythe)

-The ''old times'' conversation about the mall.

-The newborn Slayer refusing to take anymore shit from her 
father. 

-Spike incinerated. I know it won't last, but damn it was fun to 
behold.

-Spike at last admitting, "No you don't."

Stuff that wasn't;

-Not showing Caleb getting cut steam to stern. 

-The final battle. All the Uruk-Kai...er...I mean Turok-Kan swarm 
up, kill a few folks and then Spike's McGuffin kicks 
in...and...that's 
it? Was I the only one hoping for a big showdown between Buffy 
and the Incarnate First?

-Anya died.

-Principal Woody and Kennedy did not. 

-"In my heart, he is." 

-Acting like Kennedy is Willow's great love when it is clear to 
everyone that they have a month, tops, before Willow realizes 
she's a total hoochie. 

-The cheap "Oh she's dead! Wait, no she isn't!"

-There was no sense of real "ending." "The Gift" had that sense 
without it being the last episode and that really reinforces my 
belief that Joss and Co. should have ended the show at 
season five. 

-The roles, or lack therefore, of Xander and Dawn. (If she's 
gonna turn back then make it part of the frickin' story. 
Screenwriting 101 tells you that)

Stuff that would have been really cool that they done it;

-The remaining Scoobs taking a moment to honor all those that 
have fallen by the wayside. (Jenny, Joyce, Tara, even Jesse)

-A final battle, ala Gandalf vs. Balrog, between Buffy and a 
First-made-flesh. (Even better, the First takes possession of 
Spike and Buffy duels with Super-Spike, finally dusting him and 
just as he dies he spits out, "I bloody hate you.")

The canon was been fired.

Now the real fun can start. 

Buffy loves Willow. Willow loves Buffy. 

We'll write it across the stars.

"Will?are you asleep?" I heard the soft sound of her voice 
behind me. She was finished already.

I take a breath to compose myself. "I can't sleep." I say in shaky 
voice.

"Why?" She asked concerned.

"Because? I miss the sound of your heartbeat too much." I let 
out with a small whimper.
