I don't think it's bias. As a writer myself, I've noticed that sometimes feedback just dries up. And sometimes you post things that your test readers think is jut wonderful and nobody responds to it at all. I just did thatrecently with my fic Tell Me. *shrug*

But...is there a bias against male writers in this genre? Should 
the author not admit to being male or female?

I posted a fic a while back called Stones In The Road. I mentioned 
in a post thanking people for their generous feedback that I was a 
male. Soon after that the feedback on that fic dried up.
