Re: Something I've noticed

yeah to the quantity quality thing. Course, when compared to my
other fav F/F pairing, which is F/W, B/W readership seems huge.
(I'm always surprised people can't get past F/W animosity. "but
they hated each other." "Yeah, well so did Buffy and Spike" Fire,
baby, fire.)
I loved W/T but didnt really feel the need to branch out into fanfic
to learn or imagine more. And for me I think that's a key thing-
fanfic gives me what canon doesn't, or what canon only teases
at (in the case of what I call "canon subtext" - F/B and B/W)

Canon pairing fanfic in most cases (there are always those
exceptions) isn't as appealing to me.

a K/W fan that didn't really like T/W) around three weeks ago and
we've come to quite a few conclusions.Actually, if you think about
it, it's not that strange....B/W and B/F are pioneers when it comes
to femslsh fans, B/W fans have been around since before they
even thought about bringing Tara in, and i can tell you, that when
you consider unconventional ships, we're quite well....At least we
were, now i dunno.Truth of the matter is, B/W is an idea, a
possibility, and W/T and W/K were realities...Once it became
official people just jumped in...I mean, why stay with the could be
when you could have the is....Not only that, but the thruth of the
matter is, people want to see themselves in there...TAra ,
Kennedy and Willow are lesbians, Buffy isn't , lots of the fans of
W/T and W/K are bi/lesbian, at least the ones i've bumped into,
so the indentification is different( one of the biggest examples of
that i saw when they decided to include a lesbian couple on
primetime here) ....I think that is even one of the reasons why
people tend to idolize TAra...Other than that , you must take into
consideration that most people are femslash fans, so they don't
restrict themselves to pairings....ANd there is the one for each
concept...So, WIllow is with TAra/Kennedy, why break that ? STill,
there are other female there, so they end up pairing Buffy with
other female ( mostly FAith, who showed to be more ambigous)
... And so it goes....

putting my thought into words ( waiting 50 minutes for your sister
to get ready while you're dying to eat something is arghhh...last
time i try to be nice...)
> Still, while small, the true B/W fans are quite faithfull...Or at
least i know i am....We may not have quantity , but we sure have
quality...What matters isn't what is explicit, but what we read
between the lines...And THAT we do very well...
