Re: Alyson & Sarah question
You know it¹s strange cause I was thinking about this very topic in bed last
night (ah insomnia) and was going to write to the list about it but
chickened out. I guess I could say I¹m a recent Buffy fan because I started
watching the show in Season 7 and caught up via FX and DVD¹s so it was very
apparent while watching Season 1and 2 (Via DVD) simultaneously to Season
3,4,5& 6 (FX) and Season 7 (Primetime) that something did indeed happen to
the friendship which affected the B/W relationship. And although, Ivy, I
agree, we will never truly know and should be happy with the B/W living
happily ever after as we (or you guys can, cause I read and lurk, can¹t
write) write it, I think it¹s only natural to wonder why the friendship went
down the tubes. Especially since it did seem to affect the dynamic between
the two characters on the show so much. Now that Dan brought it up, I¹m
curious about what he called the ³non-scripted² touching in Season 1 and 2.
Was there something going on that I¹m unaware of on the show being such a
recent fan? Lord knows, I haven¹t really read all the transcripts,
articles, and so forth about the show that there is. Sevens years worth, I
don¹t think I have enough time. If someone, maybe Dan, can give me a brief
rundown (you know long story short?) I¹d appreciate it, cause my curiousity
is peeked now.
But back to the matter at hand, personally, I love Dan¹s theory of a
relationship between the two actresses and with SMG saying she married her
beard (Dan¹s words not mine :) ) and Aly saying every chance she gets that
she is not into women, I say the ladies doth protest too much (again not
mine). Though that can just be my perennial lesbian brain, which wishes
every beautiful woman on tv was gay, even if I can¹t have her. ;) But in all
fairness to the two, chances are they drifted and what happens to women
whenever they have a serious relationship, happened to them, they forsake
their friends for their boyfriends / husbands.
But, thanks guys, who ever brought this up, cause I was debating with myself
if I should write in about it , or would it be beating a dead horse issue
that had been visited time and time again.
