Me neither.  That was silly.  Couldn't Willow have been, like, 
firebombing things at will by that point?  And the opening "Stooges" 
scene of Bargaining?  Weak, weak, weak.

Yeah.  The closest they got was the "I was selfish" bit in Tabula 
Rasa.

Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to imply that it should have been 
B/W in the slashy sense (tho yay!).  I simply meant that those 
images of Willow wielding power from on high, bringing Buff back 
from the grave (Willow=subject, Buffy=object), some subtle control 
stuff in After Life, and Buffy checking out -- all of these things 
sort of pushed the narrative in a certain direction IMO that 
suddenly vanished.  Plus, Buffy's Big Thing was that she couldn't 
deal with being back.  Yet there's no conflict with the person most 
responsible for that?  How does that work?

I want to draw a parallel with the S3 DMP/Choices arc, but I'll need 
more time to work it out.

This has been bugging me so much of late that I'm almost to the 
point of rewatching the beginning of the season just to get it out 
of my system.

OTOH, yeah, I was glad Willow deferred to Buffy's leadership almost 
immediately upon B's return, and Buffy didn't kick Willow out of the 
house because: 1) it affirmed my belief in their friendship and 2) 
annoyed the Willow-haters... but I'm torn.

And I hear ya on that rant, BHV.
