Ooh, I haven't read the Elenium and the Tamuli.  Are they as good as the Belgariad & Malloreon?  Are they set in the same universe or different?

Everyone bow down to the greatness that is David (and Leigh) Eddings.
the Belgaraid is the finest piece of fantasy you can find in this
slightly duller world of ours. it's then followed by eight books, for
a total of 13 GREAT books, and Eddings does what Jordan does not: he
manages to keep the books relevant.

also check out his other creations: The Elenium (five books), The
Tamuli (five books, sequel to Elenium), Althalus the Thief (one book)
and the less-fantasy-more-psychotic-thriller Regina's Song

five-book series: the Belgariad and the Malloreon, plus a few
companion novels.  You have to read the Belgarion first because
they're sequential.  But they're SO good.  I picked up the first two
of the Belgariad, _Pawn of Prophecy_ and _Queen of Sorcery_, and when
I finished them (that night) I had to go back and get all the rest.  :)
