No, I don't think it really has that much to do with the enjoining spell. I 
don't think it became about self-fulfillment, I think it was more that she 
matured as a slayer. I do think that it probably does give her a little bit 
of a rush because they wouldn't fight or try as hard if it was just the 
fight. Everyone is kinda like that, we we go stronger, harder, faster, and 
longer if there's some enjoyment in it. I do think she has emotions, though. 
We saw that all through the show.

I didn't say she didn't trust giles, Willow, and the others, I just think 
that being the slayer for 8 years would make her want to really shape the 
council. Yeah, the deaths would be hard to deal with, but maybe that would 
be a partial reason to stay part of it all, keep on fighting so that those 
she couldn't save would be avenged in a way and she could prevent even more 
deaths. And I also see where you're coming from. Maybe she would just be a 
consultant, but it's hard to just quit something that's been a very large 
part of your life. Look at ppl who go and work after they're retired, they 
say it doesn't feel right to just sit around. Well, slaying was a whole lot 
bigger then just a 9 - 5 job. that's where I'm coming from kinda.
