About Campbell and the Hero's Journey, and how it relates to Buffy and Willow

A lot of discussion of BtVS has referred to Joseph Campbell, who was 
probably THE expert on mythology and how it related to life.  A lot 
of writers of heroic fiction, since, have been heavily influenced by 
Campbell, including George Lucas, J. K. Rowling, and, of course, 
Joss Whedon, all of whom have used Campbell's concepts as the basis 
for their own work.  Campbell's work was rich and complex, analyzing 
myths, stories, and rituals and how they apply to everyday life, 
and, well, we can't summarize it all, here.  However...

I'd HAD wanted to go over the basic steps of the Hero's Journey, as 
Campbell fans (Myself included) have always insisted that Buffy's 
story wasn't complete without those last two seasons.  But, someone 
already outlined the steps.  Take a look, and see if this sounds 
familiar...

So...  Faith as Temptress, and Willow as Goddess?  And, since Willow 
moved into the Isis and Ishtar role in Bargaining, did she make a 
long term commitment?  The Hero, after going through the 
death/ressurection/return bit is supposed to be rewarded with the 
Sacred Marriage, usually a sexual union, with the Goddess figure if 
one is present.  So, is Willow shirking her responsibilities by 
screwing around with Kennedy?  :)
