As much as I've personally enjoyed the "Buffy"
ending and the whole season 7 I think I very much agree with that. I, for myself
enjoy Kennedy very much, I think her and Willow wasn't a waste of time on the
other hand since to me it really was a -Willow has to move on to be strong
again-, it wasn't a -love story- and for that I'm glad we didn't have any -I
love you- between the two cause at that time, really not the point, but anyway I
really agree with you in the way that I believe all these -possible spinoffs-
kinda ruined the ending. As much as I've loved the very opened way the show
ended I think it was only due to the spin offs possibility and we would have had
a much more emotional ending with -I think- more important death (as in Faith or
Willow or Xander)
I'm not saying I don't like these characters and
want them dead, it's really the opposite since Willow and Faith are my fav
characters but let's see the end of "Angel", wow what an emotional way and a
definite way to end it. That's the word, definitive. When Buffy ended there was
still "Angel" running on the air and again all these possible spin off everyone
was exited about and talking about. One year after it was "Angel" who was to end
and let's face it hopes had already fallen for these spin offs, and let's face
it again, I think everyone of them is still pretty busy doing anything else but
Whedonverse thing so it was a given: it's the real end. And we had a very
powerful final. My fav character died (about 5 ep after my other fav character
died) and despite the tears that didn't want to stop falling I was like "My God
this is so good" (SM Much?)

What I mean is, I agree with you I'd have loved to
see more connections between the scoobies, mainly after what happened in season
6. But season 7 remain one of my fav all the same and I just do like -they- did,
focus on the fight, that's what mattered right?

trying to set up the spinoff, he'd have known she didn't want to do
a Willow series, that she just wanted to do Buffy the Vampire
Slayer, and therefore there was no need to give Willow a Buffy
substitute.
And, I'm sure Willow just wanted to do Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
too. Um, in a different way than Aly... :)
