Down Twisted: the sumary
here it is, just as I promised ya'll! Tried to do a small sumary but
couldn't seem to make That work so, it's kind long winded. I
apologise, I just didn't know how else to explain things! All right,
everyone pull up a chair and make yourselves comfortable. Before
anyone can ask, no, Alex is Not me! She may have some of my
personality quirks but that's as far as it goes.
The main folk's of our story:
Alexandra Katherine Roberts ( a stranger), Buffy Summers ( the
Chosen one), Willow Rosenberg ( a Wiccan) and Tom Skyton ( the bad
guy).
Supporting characters:
Rupert Giles ( a Watcher), Xander Harris and Anya ( rest of the
Scooby gang), Cordilia Chase ( a former Prom Queen), Angel (
brooding, souled vampire) and, to lesser degrees, the parents of
Sunnydale ( Joyce Summers, the Rosenbergs and Harris's).
CHAPTER ONE:
Alex, Willow and Buffy meet. You learn that Ms. Roberts has
come to town hunting for the man, and I use that term loosely, who
butchered somone that she loves. The Witch/ Slayer are surprised to
find that Alex is a southerner, 30 years of age and hellbent upon
wiping Tom Skyton off the face of the Earth for killing her baby,
Scott Maddox. Every bit of Alex Roberts rage can be seen within the
depths of her dark, gray eyes and it's Buffy who senses that other
dark undercurrents course along the edges of that woman's soul. The
friend's agree, after hearing her story, to help Alex search for
Scott's killer. After a short conversation ensuses, the Southerner
utterly stuns herself by asking the girl's if they'ed like to have
dinner with her! Buffy and Willow are surprised, at first, but agree
after insisting they all need to stop by the Bronze that evening.
CHAPTER 2:
After scarfing Chinese food and arriving at the other
desination, all are pleasantly surprised to find that they seem to
genuninely like eachother! Alex, upon first meeting the girl's in
chap 1,had found herself utterly charmed by their natural beauty and
shocking depths of heat that so clearly radiated between Buffy and
Willow. She , rightly, suspects neither girl are quite aware of how
that aspect of their friendship defined their existing realationship
or that they'ed ever have the guts to admit that it was more than
mere friendship that was going on between them. The Wiccan and
Slayer, for their part, are delighted to find themselves totally
enjoying the older woman's company. Alexandra Roberts takes it upon
herself to test the waters between the 2 girls in a scene I like to
call quite amusing. Basically, she innocently flirts with our
favorit redhead just as the Slayer comes back after getting them
someting to drink. You then get a heated, little dance between a
calm Southerner, a flustered Willow and a intrigued Slayer. Alex then
beats a hasty retreat to their table and you get a slightly sensual,
if I do say so myself, dance between our girl's . In short order,
this part ends with the Buffster patrolling, Alex driving Will home
and then the dark woman returning to her place of residance, too
keyed up for sleep. She watches some movies to realease her tension.
CHAPTER 3:
It opens at 8:30 a.m., just as Alex is finishing up her
exercises, with a knock at her front door. Its a somewhat nervous
Buffy and Willow, they are there to guilt the older woman into having
one, funfilled day before the horror that is Skyton arrives in town.
Alex can't seem to resist their apolgetic yet hopeful expressions and
the trio is on their way to one of Sunnydale's beaches. Would'va been
a perfect afternoon except for one small thing. Upon arriving at
said beach, Alexandra Roberts finds herself wholly assulted by
achingly sweet, beautiful memories of another coastline that is a
full 12 years in her past. She freaks and sends the girl's on ahead
so that she can bring her emotions back under control. Witch and
Slayer make themselves comfortable out on the sand and it there they
can finally admit, at least to themselves, how every much they'ed
like to jump the other's bones. The southerner returns, makes an
apology and offers a side trip to the ice cream shop for good
measure. Then, my dear reader's, it's time to get wet-n- wild! All I
will say is that Shyfox seemed to like this scene and that's a high
mark in my estimation. Ice cream is then consummed and the chapter
ends with the shocking news that the serial killing, Tom Skyton has
entered town!
CHAPTER 4:
In short order you find out whom the killer of humans targets
and it ain't pretty. He prefers to slaughter entire familes but will
deviate if none are available. Upon hearing That, the girl's decide
it's time to call in the rest of the Scooby brigade. Will makes the
call, Buffy makes a statment and realises that her mom, the redhead's
folk's and, ironically, even the Harris's need to leave Sunnydale.
Giles, Anya and Xander arrive shortly and the Slayer makes that new
to the rest of the group. It takes a while but everyone agrees and
the plan to hunt down Skyton is brought to fruition. This part ends
with Giles and Alex offering the teens a place to stay while their
folk's are away. Rupert takes the quirky, brown haired boy and his
former Vengance demon girlfriend. Guess ya know what happens then,
dont'cha?
CHAPTER 5:
This part opens with Alex standing in front of the fridge,
fruitlessly trying to figure out what to make for that evenings
dinner, ( I'm a southerner, myself, so that means crispy fired
chicken, potato salad, cucumbers/onions in vinegar and strawberry
shortcake for dessert. It happens to be my favorite meal, guess I
described too well because Shyfox said it made her hungry while she
read it!). After making sure all products are ready for cooking, she
heads out to hunt Skyton. The second bit has the Slayer and Witch
arriving at the house, with suitcases in hand, ( I forgot to tell ya
that Alex gave them her key the night before). They go inside the
silent home and are soon standing infront of the closed bedroom door.
They go iside and are struck dumb by the sight of the wide, double
bed that so dominates this room. To combate their freaky reactions,
both girls steadfastly refuse to look in the other's direction. It's
then that you discover another aspect to Alexandra Roberts
personality. What they find is a picture on the dresser and the
photo intrigues both teens. It's of a clearly younger Alex, a
sumpremly happy, genuinely relaxed Alexandra Roberts, standing
sheltered in the strong looking arms of the boy who was holding her.
Willow and Buffy, instinctively, agree they'll discuss it with the
Southerner sometime that night. They lock up the residance and go off
looking for the serial killer. It ends, later on the afternoon, with
Alex and Will about to begin making the evening meal.
CHAPTER 6:
You know how some books have what is called a fluff
chapter? This is it in my story. Really, it's nothing more than
easy, kinda teasing banter between the older woman and her redheaded
companion.
CHAPTER 7:
Their free, easy conversation continues on, even after the
Slayer comes in from her short patrol. The sweaty blonde goes for a
quick shower and Alex askes Willow how it feels to be an honest to
God witch? Through the course of her answser, and Alex's reply, you
get my philosophy for tv watching. Once the Slayer returns, dinner is
consumed. After eating, Alex leads the teen into the livingroom and
tells them to pick out a movie. There is a slight, tension filled
moment when Buffy catches sight of Alex's, obvious, enjoyment of the
vampire genre, ( my like of vampires began way back when I was 5. You
bet'cha, I proudly own all movies that are mentioned.). Willow
defuses the moment by choosing Grease 2( it's another personal
favorite and yes, the reaction Alex describes was my own upon my
first viewing of Maxwell and Michelle when I was all of 12 years
old). It ends with the flick concluding and Buffy heading off to
bed. Willow, who stayed behind, asks the dark woman if she gave her
bed to them in the hopes that "something" would happen? Alex answers
and knows that it's going to have to be Buffy she convinces to take
that next step.
CHAPTER 8:
In this, my reader's, you finally learn that once, a long time
ago, Alex found herself in the very same situation, just with widely
different circumstances. You are also informed about the true depths
of that woman's pain. Alex, you see, is a molestation survivor
who,in her sophomore year of high school, found out that her best
friend and closest confidante ( Brett Mathews) had fallen in love
with her. I do not go into graphic details of said abuse because I
didn't feel that the situation warrented it. It was upon hearing
Brett's confession that Alex made a hugely, stupid mistake. In a
nutshell, she panicked and told that boy that only friendship could
exist between them. The crux is she did it, knowing full well it was
a total lie, and it cost that woman so much more than she could'va
ever imagened. That decision lost her the 2 years she should have
been loving Brettan Shea Mathews but she wouldn't understand the full
scope of it until the day of her high school graduation. You see,
they did finally get together but, tragically, only had five, short
months as a full fleged couple. I walk you through the count down to
graduation and it's precisely 10 minutes before the festivites that
Alex found out what happened to her beloved Brett. He'd been killed
in a head-on collison with a drunk, 16 year old boy. That
information almost destroyed Alexandra Roberts and it horrifies Buffy
to hear about it all these years later. This chapter ends with Alex
explaing Exactly what she would give to have those 2 lost years back
and that she wants nothing more than to save the blonde from having
to feel such unessasary pain. Buffy walks away after promising the
Southerner that she will give serious consideration to fully loving
Willow Rosenberg.
CHAPTER 9:
Well, people, it's time for the all important love scene!
I happen to be a straight woman so, my only goal was to somehow take
my reader into that scene between the Slayer and Witch. Christeen
gave me the thumbs up so, I like to believe I suceeded.
CHAPTER 10:
Alexandra awakens the next morning, with a happy smile
plastered across her face. Her enjoyment of last night's events
compells her to gift the newly formed couple with a day devoted
totally to themselves. Its a short one, really, but you do find out
that Buffy wishes to share her secret place with her new lover.
CHAPTER 11:
Our fave couple have picked up lunch,( burgers-fries and
soft drinks) and are walking through one of Sunnydale's many
cemetaries. This first part is all about Willow, Buffy and a simple
little tree house. It's the nice moment on the pine wood floor that
Shyfox seemed to appreciate. Second half has a coldly fruious Alex
staring up at a rundown apartment window that could house Scott's
killer. While every part of that woman yearns to go inside and
destroy that S.O.B., she knows it isn't time quite yet. By the time
Alex pulls into her driveway, she's forced her face into a bland
mask. There is no freaking way Buffy and Willow can know she's
finally located Skyton so a prize winning performance, on her part,
is in order. She knows what must be done and it closes with Alex
strolling into her darkened livingroom with a cheerfully, bright grin
ensconsed across her visage.
CHATPTER 12:
At 4:25 pm, Willow and Buffy enter the house and are
stunned to find a very, relaxed Alexandra Roberts sitting on the
couch with her head thrown back and feet resting up on the coffee
table. She is listening to her boom box and so completly at ease
that the young couple hesitates before making their presance known.
Alex, oblivious to the fact that they are standing directly behind
her, continues harmonizing with one of her fave '80s tunes. I've
been told, by my at home readers, that it's an incredibly cute moment
when they begin clapping as the song ends. The Southerner,in a
dangerous mood, promptly rises to the ocassion. Nobody wants to cook
so they decide to order in dinner. Pizza is what they want and after
calling the pizza joint, Alex realises they have a good 45 minutes
before the pie arrives. She suggest yet another movie, the choice is
up to the girls. Alexandra Roberts can't help but feel a little
heartsick by the couple's choice of flick. The movie is Liar's Moon
and the woman knows, from previous experience, what her reaction will
be to watching that sadly, tragic love story.
Warning, warning: chapters 13-15 deal with a extremely sensetive
subject. I've been pleasantly surprised by the reader's over at
IKOLY, they seem to be okay with this part. Let me just say that
Alex takes this chance to share her whole self with Buffy and Willow
and, since you know she's a molestation survivor, you outta know that
her full story may make some people highly uncomfortable. Ah, heck, I
dunno how to tell ya'll what happens without being overtly graphic.
Basically, when she was six, she found the 2 people to whom her very
sanity is owed. They happened to be 18 and 17, respectfully, and the
names are Michael McDaniel and Amy Fuller. By that time period,
Alex's only choice for dealing with her abuse was to retreat far back
into her own mind. She was a quick study and by '76, Alexandra was so
far back in her head that she saw the world in varying shades of gray.
It was only upon meeting Amy and Mike that true colors bled back into
her world. They where a bloody Godsend to that girl and she adored
that couple with all the emotion that still resided in her shattered
heart. In fact, it's only around Mike and Amy that Alex felt any
part of normal. Through the course of their friendship, Alexandra
Roberts feelings gradually change. Adoration turned to love and, by
the end of this 4 year period, love became want. Let me hasten to
assure you that there is no true sex scene between Alex, Mike and
Amy. I may be a darkly twisted person but even I'm Not that
twisted!! However, other sexual things do occur and young Alex is
front and center for most of it. On that note, I truelly think ya'll
better click over and read the whole story because I don't think I'm
explaining myself too well. One more note, Alexandra Roberts lost
the 2 people she loved above all others because Mike got a job in
Colorado and Amy,naturally, was going to join her lover.
CHAPTER 16:
This is all about the worst day, with the exception of
Brett's death, of Alexandra's entire existance. She holds nothing
back and, by the close of her tale, Willow and Buffy are staring at
her in twice, stunned astonishment. It closes with Alex stating that
there can be only 3 possible outcomes to her eventual meeting with
Skyton. (1) she will spend the rest of her life rotting away in a
jail cell after killing that man, (2) he'll mortally wound her as she
delivers the killing blow or, and this is the worst of all, (3)
Skyton will have acheieved his ultimate goal of becoming one of the
undead and turn her. She begs Buffy to stake her as quickly as
possible if that where to happen.
CHAPTER 17:
After the preceeding darkness of these last couple of
chapters, I felt the need to lighten things up a bit. It's nothing
more than an excuse for Willow and Buffy to comfort eachother.
CHAPTER 18:
This is an incredibly short, dark read. It begins with
Alex awakening at 5:30 am and mentally preparing herself for the
upcoming battle. It ends with the older woman sitting down on the
opposite wall of the apartment directly facing Skyton's.
CHAPTER 19:
I tend to free associate when I wrote so, I let my Mom
read this when it was done. It is, by far, her least favorite
chapter. The sheer and utter darkness of this chapter sickened her
and, who knows, it may do the same to you? Let's picture the dark
haired Southerner hunkered down on the floor, coldly anticipating
Skyton's demise. Her gun is cocked, a knee cap is blow out and,
after another calm shot, Thomas James Skyton is residing on his back
less than a foot inside the livingroom. A short conversation is held
where the man brashly attempts to throw doubt that woman's way.
Doesn't work. His next words are: " You came here because I killed
someone you love, didn't you?" Her response: " I'm here because your
mistake that should'va never been born." It closes with Alex
spitting into the man's upturned face and then turning to, violently,
kick the door shut.
CHAPTER 20:
We head back to suberbia for this one. It's 6:45 am and
Buffy Summers knows its time to awaken her slumbering lover and face
the world. I was all set to write out another scorching scene
between Slayer and Witch and, right in the middle of it, I nixed that
idea! What happens is Buffy goes to get them something to eat and,
upon entering the silent kitchen, she goes stock still as her eyes
fall to the plain, white envelope that sitting on the table. It has
both her and Willow's names emblazed across the front and it strikes
a note of terror within the Slayer's heart. It contains a letter
that is Alex's heartfelt goodbye to Willow and Buffy. They can only
sit there, stunned beyond all belief by those tenderly composed
words. Realising that precious time is slipping away from them, the
blonde heads to the phone to call Giles. This ends with a tension
filled ride, in Rupert Giles car, to the hotel mentioned in Alex's
letter.
CHAPTER 21:
It opens with Giles pulling the car to a screeching halt
infront of the rundown apartment building. The Slayer has already
vaulted from her seat, long before the car was turned off. Willow
joins her a heartbeat later and the 2 girl's carefully make their way
into the former Claremont Hotel. At this point, our girl's still
hold out hope that they can stop Alex from killing her prey. It dies
a quick death because the Slayer's sensetive ears can detect no
movemet in the still air. She pushes open the apartment's door and
they are horrified by the terribly gruesome sight that greets their
eyes. A man's figure lays there, almost seeming to float within the
dark blood that pooled around the shattered reamins of his head. For
a moment, neither one realises that Alex doesn't seem to be around.
They, evenutally, find her in the back bedroom. Both are broken
hearted to see that the woman is hunkered down upon the floor,
surrounded by a multitude of tiny objects, cluching something to her
cheast as she rocked to and fro. Buffy, instantly, realises that
Alex has once again retreat inside the confindes of her own mind.
She tells Willow that they need to get the older woman down to where
Giles is still waiting on them. It took a little time but their are
sucessful in this endevor. Rupert, apprising himself of the
situation, makes haste to drive back to the dark woman's house. Once
inside, a conversation ensuses where it is decided that Alex would
benifit more from being surrounded by her friend's and belongings and
that the Sunnydale PD would be called at a more appropriate time.
The concerned Watcher leaves and Buffy Summers is stuggling with the
knowledge that she and Willow, most likely, held the keys to breaking
Alex free from herself imposed exhile. It's here where I messed
myself up because neither the Slayer, nor I, can really believe that
Willow Rosenberg( as she was written on television) would willingly
get naked and frisky while another person was watching! Not even, I
hasten to guess, if it meant saving the dark woman, whom she'd come to
care a great deal about, from her own self. It ends with Buffy Anne
Summers praying: " Please God, please let Alex possess the ablity to
come back to us all on her own."
So ends the sumary. I'll try and post the next chapter sometime
tomarrow. You now know why abore what your gonna soon be reading.
Thanks for your time,
