FIC: "Just Friends" 4/10 B/W

Willow was going out of her room just when Buffy was walking in the corridor, she gave a jump:

?Oh Willow?

?Hey you?re back! I mean, I?m glad you?re back, how did it go??

?The welcome committee was here but I managed to get her home in one piece, she?s downstairs with the others, probably eating right now, err what about you? I thought you?d be sleeping by now?

?Oh err yes I was err, I wanted to go to the bathroom?

Buffy asked in a trying-to-sound-nice tone:

?I haven?t seen Kennedy downstairs with the others, is she in there??

?Err yes, she?s, we were talking? about The First you know?

Buffy nodded and asked as if by chance:

?Ok, she?s nice isn?t she??

Buffy looked attentively at Willow?s reaction, the witch just said:

?Err well yes she is, she talks? a lot, well yes, nice?

?Yes, so it?s going fine in there with the? talking I mean. She seems to like you? a lot, I mean, talking with you?

Buffy pointed out the bedroom and Willow couldn?t help a feeling of satisfaction as she began to feel jealousy in Buffy?s words, she replied naturally:

?Yes we?re having great talks actually?

Buffy replied with a fake honesty:

?I see, that?s great?

She added:

?Err, I thought that we could put the new girl, Rona, in your room you know?

Willow smiled inwardly but said with a cool tone:

?If you prefer that, no problem?

?Oh no it?s absolutely not- I mean, err, it?s just, seems logical since Eve and Chloe are in my room and Vi and Molly in Dawn?s, I thought it?d be better, for the space you know, no other reason?

Willow smiled:

?No problem Buffy, well gotta go to the bathroom now, good night Buffy?

Willow left; Buffy looked at the door with a slight frown and headed to her room:

?Yeah ?night Willow?

A few more days passed by. Buffy managed to defeat the Turok-Han and bring Spike home. She was spending most of her time with him or at the school. Willow resigned herself to spend time at home researching and welcoming the potentials still arriving, she was also spending some more time with Kennedy as the brunette was really hitting on her.

Giles left with the girls for a retreat in the desert. Kennedy was sick so she didn?t go with them. Buffy arrived at the kitchen while Willow was making some tea:

?That?s for our patient??

?Yes, thought it might do her good?

Buffy raised her brows:

?Yeah, you sure must be good to her?

Willow ignored Buffy?s sarcastic comment and just said:

?What about you? Don?t know what good you did to him but there?s a definite lack of screaming so I guess you should do it again?

They remained silent then both said at the same time:

?I?m sorry?

They slightly smiled and Buffy said:

?Honestly, it?s great that-?

?It?s just tea?

?Yes, anyway, what do you remember about the chip??

Willow shrugged:

?Did some research back then but honestly, all the answers are buried down deep into the ground I guess?

?You think there are still some files there??

Willow raised her brows and sarcastically said:

?Of course not, I?m sure the soldiers all took the time to get every classified files before following us to the exit don?t you think??

?Yes, you?re right, Walsh and the others? work is probably still there. I?m gonna try to join Riley but if it doesn?t work I may have to go back in the initiative?

?Alone? Let us get ready and-?

?No, I?ll go with... Spike, I mean, he?s the one concerned?

?Yes, sure?

Willow looked at her tea. Buffy added:

?And if there are still some demons alive, I don?t want you to get hurt?

?It?s ok Buffy I understand?

Willow took the cup of tea with her and Buffy said:

?So, you?re staying here?

Willow nodded looking at her before saying:

?Yeah, I?ll take care of... Kennedy, she?s the one in need right now and you, you should help Spike, I think he needs you?

?Yes he does?

They both looked at each other, knowing, and Willow left. Buffy pulled herself together and took her cell phone while joining Spike.

Willow realised Kennedy kinda cheated and she wasn?t sick but despite that fact, the witch let herself get rounded and without realising it she was at the bronze on a date with the potential. She admitted to herself though that she was spending a nice evening. In the meantime at the house the others were freaking out; Buffy and Spike had left for The Initiative and they were alone fearing Giles might be The First so they finally all decided to take the car and head to the desert. Willow and Kennedy came back and discreetly walked up the stairs:

?Well, this is my stop. So... glad we talked?

?Yes. Kinda cleared the air?

?Yeah, totally. Air cleared. Check?

?You know in the spirit of air clearing...?

?Yeah??
?I feel like I need to be honest about something?

?I-is something wrong??

?No, no, it?s just? Kennedy?s voice was very husky and she was almost whispering while still moving closer, her face very close to the witch?s one:

?I think... you should... know? she placed her lips on Willow?s and they pulled closer to each other as they kissed for a long while. Still kissing Kennedy was moving slowly forward, the witch wasn?t really thinking and she was following, that is moving backwards until she reached the bed, she pulled out for air and Kennedy kissed her neck while toppling her over on the bed and already moving half on top of her. Willow felt like part of her mind was interrupted. She was willingly kissing the young brunette and roaming her hands on the potentials back and the other half of her brain was screaming for the brunette to stop. Kennedy?s hand moved under her top and she massaged Willow?s breasts. Willow slightly pulled the brunette away, finally regaining part of her brain, enough to talk at least:

?Kennedy, I-I?

?What?s wrong?? the brunette asked while kissing her neck.

?Please, I-I, it?s too fast?

Kennedy pressed her hand on Willow?s crotch over the witch?s pants, whispering:

?But I know you want it?

She began kissing her again whispering against her neck:

?I want it too... So badly Willow?

Willow moaned as Kennedy pressed her hand on her crotch again but then the redhead removed Kennedy?s hand.

?Please, Kennedy I-I really need more time, it?s, I-?

Kennedy slightly pulled apart and caressed Willow?s face:

?It?s ok, I understand, it?s, I didn?t mean to be, well ok I meant to be pushy but I- I just don?t know how else... I mean, but you seem?

This time it was Kennedy who seemed confused; Willow caressed her face in her turn reassuring her:

?It?s ok; you don?t have to prove anything to me. We?ll just take our time ok??

Kennedy nodded then moved closer to kiss Willow again. They were already pressing against each other again so Willow pulled apart:

?Which won?t be possible if we don?t get up from the bed NOW?

Kennedy slightly smiled and said:

?Ok, I?ll sleep in the sleeping bag?

?No, no, stay in bed, enjoy it while the others are not here. I?ll just be in the other room. Buffy probably won?t sleep in it tonight so?

Kennedy looked a bit sad:

?You sure you don?t wanna stay here... with me? I promise I won?t try anything?

Willow smiled:

?For the moment I think we both had better stay in separate rooms, we drank a few beers and talked and kissed and... Well, temptation could be too big and I don?t wanna make mistakes, I mean not that you would be but I-?

?It?s ok, time, I understand? the brunette said but disappointment was obvious in her voice, the mistake word was still echoing in a head.

?We?ll see tomorrow ok??

Kennedy nodded:

?Ok, good night Willow?

Willow left the room and went to Buffy?s and got rid of her clothes, she only put a t-shirt on and crept under the sheets.

Buffy entered her room in slow motion, she was very tired and very perplexed by the decision she just took regarding Spike?s chip. She shook her head and reached for her bed, she just needed to lie down and get rid of all these thoughts and tension. That?s what sleep was for after all?

Even before reaching her bed she felt her, she moved closer and removed her jacket slowly. The slayer sat on the bed, not quitting her gaze off of her best friend. She removed her shoes and her pants getting up again to do so. She kept her shirt on and looked at Willow again. The redhead was partly uncovered. Buffy could see her stomach and even before realising it her fingers were brushing against it, Willow slightly moved and Buffy removed her hand. Willow was still asleep; Buffy softly reached the witch?s skin again and ran her fingertips on Willow?s stomach, down to her thigh. She was breathing heavily and she was feeling again that rush in between her legs, she removed her hand like it burnt her, she got up and took her pants and left the room as soon as possible. She closed the door and lied against it, breathing heavily. That?s when she noticed Kennedy staring at her.
