Challenges: a cure for the silence?

Since the list was dead silent yesterday, I thought I'd throw some
challenges out there, using D.R.E.G. (Dan's Random Episode Generator).
For everyone who's forgotten, this is basically pulling two cards out of
a deck and using them to get the number of an episode from 1-100,
covering the first 5 seasons. (Ignore the face cards, and treat tens as
"0".) Then I took a look at the B/W in the ep, and came up with
ep-related challenge ideas.

First, I got a 2 and a 10, so that's ep 20, "The Dark Age". Even though
this is primarily a B/G ep, there's plenty of stuff to work with:

1. "Anywhere But Here, Buffy's version": in "Becoming, Part 2", Willow
is able to work the spell restoring Angel's soul before he gets the
sword out of Acathla. So Buffy doesn't have to send him to Hell, but
without her guilt over that, she has trouble dealing with the Angelus
issue, and with Angel not falliing in her lap tortured and dependent on
her (as he did in S3), he's able to break it off with her, convincingly.
So they're over, and Buffy's down, but still in Sunnydale, so Willow
arranges for the gang to go on the "ideal vacation" Buffy mentioned in
the "anywhere but here" game: a beautiful Caribbean island, where the
water's "way too blue". Cordy and Xander are there (it's Cordy's money,
after all), but Oz is off with the band, so B/W are unencumbered by
guys.
Will Giles come with them? Will there be some evil on the island? Will
Xander (having just realized his feelings for Willow, and being glad
Angel's out of Buffy's life) make a move on one of the girls, or will he
try and set them up so he can stay committed to Cordelia? Will Gavin
Rossdale turn up to massage Buffy's feet, or will Willow have to do it?
<g> (Remember, Willow also likes foot massages, per "The Killer in Me")
Will Buffy and Willow have passionate sex on the beach that makes "From
Here to Eternity" look like a Shirley Temple film by comparison? You
decide.
2. "Anywhere But Here, Willow's Version"; post-"Prophecy Girl",
Cordelia's parents suddenly change their vacation plans from St. Croix
to Tuscany and Cordy, desperate for an excuse to avoid art and
buildings, claims she's really bonded with Buffy and Willow and wants to
spend the summer with them (figuring that Sunnydale may be dull, but at
least there's a beach).
Unfortunately, her excuse doesn't work, and Mr. Chase, flashing that
ill-gotten money the IRS will eventually nail him for, simply invites
Buffy and Willow along on the vacation. Hank Summers (who will
eventually, you remember, move to Spain) is glad to spend the summer
working at his firm's Florence branch (perhaps he brings the secretary
he eventually hooks up with) and agrees to escort Buffy, while the
Rosenbergs let Willow be "independent" and go on her own.

Does Willow rent a scooter and run into John Cusack over ziti? Does
Buffy encounter The Immortal (and, please, slay him)? Do the Chases
think Cordy's a lesbian and is in love with either Buffy or Willow (due
to her strangely insistent request)? Run with it.

3. "Putting that demon into Angel was pretty brill, Will"good
version: Willow saved Buffy's life, which leads Buffy to look at her in
a whole new light. OR

bad version: Eyghon and the Angelus demon destroyed each other, and
without the demon, Angel's just a corpse. Can Buffy forgive Willow for
"killing" Angel? Pour on the angst.

4. "Maybe you should consider a career as a Watcher." Willow
overcomes anxiety and the prospect of a crap dental plan to dedicate
herself to protecting Buffy, with or without Giles's consent. So now
Buffy is more than a best friend (and maybe more), she's Willow's
duty/destiny/calling. What happens when Buffy can't kill Angel? What
happens when Buffy runs away? What happens when Faith shows up? What
happens when Willow discovers the Cruciamentum? What does the Council
do when they discover a civilian interfering in their work? Beats me,
but take a shot.

Breed, little plot bunnies! Spawn fics!

Hope this helps,

Dan
