And while Moderator!Dan is glad to see people giving feedback of any
sort, Reader!Dan respectfully disagrees.  I really enjoyed this, Soren,
and (having not read it the first time), look forward to see where it's
going.

I also liked several of the little touches, and will quote to make my
point:

Oooh, oooh, oooh yeah.  (And also a nice thematic counterpoint to the

Yeah, it is easy to lose yourself in the fluff.  Heh.

Neat "second romance" anxiety here.  "It didn't last before, how can I
be sure it will this time?" is just the sort of thing Willow would worry
about.

Ah, the crux of it.  Thanks to her mother (and, I would argue,
reinforced by Oz and Tara), Willow thinks she has to perform, has to be
perfect, for someone to keep loving her.  And, until Buffy makes it
clear that she's different, that she's with Willow no matter what, that
can cause problems.

(One of my great annoyances with Season 7 was the loss of Buffy's
unconditional acceptance of Willow.  Even in Season 6, in "Wrecked",
with Buffy shut down and pissed off at Will about long-term [the
resurrection] and short-term [Dawn's broken arm] issues, she was still
able tell Willow that it's about who she is, not what she does:
"Willow, there's nothing wrong with you.  You don't need magic to be
special."  But in S7, Buffy suddenly turns into [IMO] Tara, and is all
"If you won't do magic, and do it the 'right' way, you're useless to
me."  It's explicit in "Get it Done", but I felt it in "Same Time, Same
Place" and "Bring on the Night" and hated it all year long.

Hee!  Buffy, scouting out the terrain, as always.

Skillful procrastination, very admirable.

Willow's many attempts to distract Buffy (with everything from heavy
math to coffee to snuggles) failing to daunt the slayer persistance was
very cute, too.  And the Prophecy-interpretator sounds like a good thing
but will probably cause more trouble than it's worth.  Looking forward
to it.

Keep it up! (Well, okay, it's a repost, so you already have, but I'm
glad there's new stuff coming, too.)
