Why do you say that? Just because Sarah didn't want to do a
full TV
series any more doesn't mean she didn't want to touch the
character,
ever again. She's never said anything like that.
***Yes somewhat they did. It was clear, for DB at least that
they wouldn't TV movies, a big screen movie yes but not a TV movie.
I know the reason why she didn't do the Angel ep last year and I
understand it, it has nothing to do with that but I am 99 per cent
sure we're not gonna see any of these two in those movies or at
least just cameo unless the TV movies don't become a reality before
long, very long, but for now they won't***
Sure, Sarah has commitments, and doesn't want to do a regular hour
long TV drama, but the same is true of Aly. If something comes of
the sitcom project with NBC, Aly would be the least likely to be
availiable.
JM said the projects were a matter of getting the other three to
commit (And I don't see Illyria, or Gunn, or Andrew, or whoever,
as
having enough of an audience to headline a movie project),
***Yes but Joss is alays up for challenge on doing what is less
expected and making it work so I'd say, Illyria, not impossible.***
Illyria just isn't established enough. The entire potential
audience would be people who liked Season 5 of Angel, and
specifically those among that group that really liked that
character. Willow and Spike have both had years of developing their
characters and fan followings, to the point of BtVS's last two
seasons being as much about them as Buffy. And, again, why build up
a subplot for Buffy, especially one that made as little sense as the
whole Immortal thing did, if there's not a story behind it? That's
an awful lot of trouble and backstory for it to be just "She's
seeing somebody", ESPECIALLY when the whole thing makes no sense.
I mean, granted, the shows have seen some bad writing in their time,
but this would have to be deliberate bad writing, if that's all
there is to it.
As for Eliza, she'd be the least likely to sign on, given one of her
stated reasons for turning down the Faith spinoff. She said when
she came back for that last season, she just couldn't find Faith any
more.
