Well, I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to the Faith/Xander 
scene.  It IS an AU Buffy, after all, with a different background, 
who's a much harder person, and the normal Buffy has been known to 
get a bit rough.  Or, as Dawn put it, when she was demonstrating how 
much growing up with a Slayer has warped her view on what makes a 
woman attractive, "You're older and hotter and have rough sex and 
kill people!  I don't have any of that!"

And anyway, I've seen much weirder people put in the dominant role.  
At least one can see it with an AU Buffy, but I've seen stories 
where TARA was being ultra dominant with Willow.  

Besides, it's not as though the relationship always has to be 
written as perfect and gentle.  There's room for a darker look at it.
