Awakening

Rating: PG-13, to be safe.
Warning: If you're bothered by the female/female pairing, this may 
bug you.

Spoilers: No idea. May reference something, may not, but probably 
will at one point or another.
Pairings: Buffy/Willow, of course.
Summary: You don't get much here, `cause it's the prologue! So I 
guess, read to find out!
Author's Notes: This is just the prologue. Feedback will determine 
when (or if) I continue, and how quickly. So, you want more? Tell 
me! You want me to not write it? Stay silent.

Prologue

	Willow stared at Buffy's limp form, feeling the tears 
stinging her eyes. "Oh, God, no&" she wasn't sure if she spoke out 
loud or in her head. She buried her head against Tara's shoulder, 
sobbing, feeling her girlfriend's arms around her in an attempt to 
comfort her, but she was inconsolable. Buffy, her best friend, was 
dead, and she was powerless to do anything. In her mind she was 
running through scenarios, how she could have saved her, what she 
could have, should have done& Around her, others grieved as well, 
but she barely noticed, lost in her own pain and disbelief.
	'I'm dreaming. Oh, God, this can't be real. This isn't 
happening.' She shook her head, keeping her eyes closed, not letting 
herself look back at Buffy. If she didn't look, it wasn't real. If 
she didn't let herself see, then everything would be fine. Buffy 
would be alright. But somehow her eyes wouldn't stay away, wouldn't 
obey her commands, and she found herself staring again; she wasn't 
sure for how long. Suddenly feeling weak, her legs gave out from 
under her. She was vaguely aware of Tara catching her, but the last 
thought going through her mind was 'I wish I was dreaming&'

	Willow found herself becoming vaguely aware of a sound. 
Beeping, was it? It sounded like beeping. Very faint 
beeping. 'What's beeping?' As she concentrated on it, the sound 
became steadily louder, ringing in her ears as she felt herself 
becoming more aware of other things. She was laying down, she 
assumed in a bed; she felt uncomfortable and had a pretty bad 
headache. On top of the beeping sounds, there was a bustle of other, 
very quiet sounds she couldn't quite make out, and& someone was 
holding her hand?
	Feeling quite confused, she slowly attempted to fource her 
eyes open. It was more difficult than she had expected, and she was 
only able to open them halfway before having to quickly shut them 
again, whatever room she was in seeming much too bright and sending 
a shock of pain through her head. She moaned softly, leaving her 
eyes closed for a moment before trying again, this time much more 
carefully. As her vision slowly came into focus, she found herself 
staring up at a white ceiling. She blinked and turned her head, and 
her eyes locked with a pair of hazel eyes staring back at her. 
Everything was silent for a moment (except for the increasingly 
annoying beeping) until the girl beside her spoke softly, 
disbelievingly. "Willow?"
	Willow stared at her a moment before replying in a tone just 
as disbelieving, though weaker. "Buffy?"
