I maintain that Quentin Travers was a pillock. How would he know what kind of love Giles had for Buffy after seeing them together ONCE? The Watcher/Slayer relationship is FAR too complex to label in such a way after such a short observation. If you look at only one episode of Buffy, you might get the impression that they have a filial relationship. Or you might get the impression that they are secret lovers. It all depends on which episode you look at. And how open your mind is.

My quote "whenever Giles sends me on a mission..." was not meant to illustrate a parental/lover relationship. Buffy was being a smartass. It was meant to emphasize that he's not so much of an authority over her so much as he is an older, wiser and respected friend.

I think I'm done with this topic. You're not going to convince me that I'm wrong, and I don't care if I convince you whether I'm right. I don't *need* to be right. I have B/G and Giles-centric lists where they actually appreciate diversity and different pairings.
