Hey, I've nothing against Season 6 B/W fic.  (It's just a lot harder to
write than "Really?  You love me, too?" since Buffy doesn't seem to for
most of the year, so you've got to somehow bring her back to normal
before going on.  But it's been done, and done well.)

Your idea is interesting, although I'd worry it'd bring Lorne's Mary Sue
tendencies out even further.  (I actually prefer him when he's kinda
cryptic about stuff, pushing Angel without spelling it all out.)  All in
the execution, I suppose.

I tend to agree with you on the matter of Lorne.  I wouldn't want to see him
basically sit the Scoobs down and say, "Look, Tara, you're cute and all, but
you're a Buffy Substitute, deal.  Willow, pull back on the throttle, babe,
or you're gonna go all Marilyn Manson-y on us, and trust me, black is not
your color..."  I'm thinking he'd be more of an observer, maybe providing
some cryptic advice.

Totally off-topic; I've been soldiering through Final Fantasy VIII, and I
noticed something; doesn't the Sorceress Edea look like a cross between
Queen Amidala, Dark Willow and a sundial?
