If they are done correctly they work. Usually in something

You basically have to take the fully developed BtVS characters,
flaws and everything, and insert them into another story, flaws

which in a large majority of occasions is really just a story
where someone has borrowed the names and places from BtVS and
thrown the rest of it out.

I don't recall seeing any B/W uber fic (Or even B/W AU-human
fics) and only one B/T uber fic (unfinished/possibly abandoned).
But there is that one archive I mentioned full of W/T uber fic
(a lot of it fairly good. Some of it just an excuse for
NC-17-ing W/T). I have a W/T on my own "ideas list" but there
are so many other possibilities with standard BtVS untapped once
I finish my current WIPs that I'll probably never write it.
