Again, Buffy fanfic seems to be doing just fine.  It's just that the
focus is changing.  I'm seeing a lot less relationship fic, especially
of the unconventional variety, and a sort of a return to the basics,
only in a post-Chosen environment. People are mostly writing adventure
fic.  What I've been caught up in reading is a ton of crossover fic,
especially by some very imaginative writers like the approriately
named Evil Author (One of his HP crossovers gave the concept of Willow
being Buffy's other half a nicely dark twist), oldscout, and our own
Andy, who've managed to build worlds where all these characters belong
together.  

There's also a lot more outlets than there used to be.  Back in the
day, we had the newsgroup and a few mailing lists.  Now, one has to
keep up with the newsgroup, a ton of mailing lists, fanfiction.net,
adultfanfiction.net, Twisting the Hellmouth, and numorous other places
just to know what's out there.  Hell, there's even a mailing list
dedicated to Harmony slash.  

As for the state of BtVS Femmeslash, it seems to be being consumed by
one ship.  I recently visited adultfanfiction.net's BtVS femmeslash
section, and it's become almost 95% Fuffy.  Seriously, it's fic after
fic after fic of it.  Robin Who?  

Hmm, maybe folks, here, might want to post Wiffyfic in some of these
other places the way the Fuffies do?  I'm sure Willow would appreciate
it, as it must be annoying to be the canon lesbian seeing the canon
straight girls getting more femmeslashy goodness than she is  :)
