Feedback can be a beautiful thing...a good, regular 'hey, i like your 
story, write more'...that is something that gives a writer hope. let's 
them know that he or she is doing something right, even if not told 
directly. A critique is a different story. These let a writer know 
what areas, on a particular story, or how their writing styles can use 
improvement, or is A-okay! These are the things that popular writers 
(not just those of fanfic) have experienced, and gone through. Do you 
honestly think that the first time Shakespeare sat down with a quill, 
he produced a masterpiece? Some may argue so but in all likelihood, 
highly doubtful. In order to master your own creativity and writing, a 
person needs to be able to take the bad with the good. Occasionally, 
there will be the common 'this sucks ass...please go crawl in a hole 
somewhere'...the only thing a person should do is move on...sure, it 
hurts, and bruises the ego at times...but sometimes, bringing down the 
ego is exactly what is needed to help create more meaningful works. A 
cocky writer is a writer on dangerous grounds. Being able to stay 
modest, and write and take the criticism (negative and positive), a 
writer continues to improve. It's the age old saying...'there's always 
room for improvement.'
