Yay, talking! But a discussion is more than just saying what you think.
There's also the commenting on what other's have said. So here I go.

Are you saying to let Xander die? Aww. I mean, yeah, it'd be a start for a
hurt/comfort fic but Willow would be pretty damn hurt. She loves him as a
best friend *and* is in love with him. Unless you change her 'in love' to be
just a beard, she'll be devastated. But even then, she'll still be way hurt
by the loss of her best friend. And that they've been best friends since
kindergarten is canon, unlike Jesse. We never knew how long Willow and
Xander knew him and they weren't too broken up by his demise. So I always
figured he was a new addition to their little group of outsiders. Perhaps
just since high school started, as there are often multiple
elementary/middle school districts that all feed a single high school. But
killing Xander is a little extreme just to get our girls together. Besides,
if you kill off Xander, who's gonna make off-color jokes about our girls?

Buffy rescues Willow in far too many episodes--Joss *liked* to put her in
danger. Personally I liked the contrast between his rescue and Willow's from
"Welcome to the Hellmouth." When Willow was taken, BAM, Buffy was right
there in the crypt with her. But here? Xander's taken, Buffy knows which
neighborhood to look in, and Buffy still takes hours to find him and has to
beat up a vampire to track him first. Willow wins the 'being found' contest.
The giant praying mantis isn't a good threat to Willow, or any female for
that matter, unless you completely rewrite the episode. Not that that isn't
a good idea.

Yeah, pheromones explain why Xander, Blayne, Giles, etc. all found Miss
French so appealing. But they won't lead you to get off with a giant praying
mantis. Pheromones can lead to an involuntary erectile response, but not to
ejaculation. And that is what she needs, his ejaculate. Now, if she'd stayed
in human form, I'd understand completely. She was generally appealing and
with the chemical trigger, she'd have no end to the males lined up at her
door. But she seemed to mate in her natural form, according to Blayne's
story, which strains credibility. And it's super ick.

I wish you every success on your gaming venture. And, yeah, a giant praying
mantis or locust would be good for fighting against. There were eggs shown
in the end of the episode, so there could easily be more of them, someday.

Yay, It's working! That's why I started this Buffy Replay. I was hoping for
inspiration, my own and other's. Please write us some Wiffy. But if you do,
don't underestimate the value of a beta.

Actually, that's good info. Thanks Mike. I had wondered why the quality was
so poor. I'd blamed an inferior transfer process so it's good to know that
the fault lies in the original. When the series is released in the next
format--and I probably will buy it all over again--I won't be surprised that
the first two seasons don't look better.
