Are you saying to let Xander die? Aww. I mean, yeah, it'd be a start for a hurt/comfort fic but Willow would be pretty damn hurt. She loves him as a best friend *and* is in love with him. Unless you change her 'in love' to be just a beard, she'll be devastated. But even then, she'll still be way hurt contest. The giant praying mantis isn't a good threat to Willow, or any female for that matter, unless you completely rewrite the episode. Not that that isn't a good idea. Yeah, pheromones explain why Xander, Blayne, Giles, etc. all found Miss French so appealing. But they won't lead you to get off with a giant praying mantis. Pheromones can lead to an involuntary erectile response, but not to ejaculation. And that is what she needs, his ejaculate. Now, if she'd stayed in human form, I'd understand completely.
