Well... there's a big difference between the general 
alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer (which has gotten so cliquish and hostile in the 
last year to people not part of the Spuffy loving in-crowd that I had 
to stop reading/participating in it ) and the more civilized 
alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer.creative which welcomes any well-written Buffy 
fic no matter what the pairing and still has a number of excellent fic 
writers participating (though traffic has died down quite a bit in the 
last year) and providing advice to those who ask.
