I believe it's a reference to the "The Kitten , The Witches and The Bad
Wardrobe" message board, a W/T shipper site.  The name is often
shortened to "The Kitten Board" and the posters are therefore called
'Kittens'.

Personally I tend to like fics where Willow is with Buffy or Tara (or
Buffy and Tara).  Not too keen on F/W, but there are some good
fics in that ship)  and have yet to read a W/K that wasn't vomit
inducing.
