imagination, Adrienne Mackenzie Prince-Kent is mine.

Rating: For now PG-13 to R depending on your point of view.

Summary: In the DCU eighteen years ago during a battle with Darksied, 
a 
strange and mysterious anomaly occurred , unleashed by an experiment 
by 
Julian September at a critical time and out of this anomaly was born 
a child 
to two of the most powerful heroes of the JLA, now attending UC 
Sunnydale, 
she will become the Slayers greatest ally.

Author's Note: This is really more of a Faith/Other romance with 
Buffy/Willow pairing as well. Faith redeemed herself and is still 
part of 
the Scoobies in my story. Also I've messed with the timeline on a 
lot of 
stuff. Joyce Summers lives!!!

Previously on Kryptonite....

"Do you have x-ray too?" Xander asked.

Feeling self-conscious Buffy moved to the couch while Faith stood 
directly 
in Macs' sight.

"No, and if I did I have no reason to use it, I was raised better 
than 
that." Mac said defensively, it had crossed her mind whether she 
could have 
resisted the temptation of someone like Faith if she did have that 
ability.

"Cool, so um what are you gonna do?" Xander asked.

"I'd like to help, if you'd let me."

"Well of course whatever help you can give would be greatly 
appreciated, but 
you do of course know that this is more the Slayers duty, even with 
your 
help that doesn't change that fact all that much," Giles said his 
regret 
showing in his voice.

"Maybe, but I know about how short Slayers lives are, maybe with help 
my 
adding to yours they'll both beat the record."

"So when exactly were you planning on telling us?" Buffy asked.

"As soon as I got the okay from my mom."

"Oh and who's your mom Wonder Woman?" Xander said sarcastically.

"Well.."

"You're kidding right?" his face turned red.

She shook her head.


Now on Kryptonite...


"So how did it go," Barbara asked glancing at her friend.

"Well it went better than expected, beside the fact that they've been 
acting 
a bit out of character, but then again I'm the new guy, so I could be 
wrong."

"You should confront them," Barbara said.

"Oh yeah, `that' would go over well. Confronted, their defensive at 
best, 
but very unreasonable."

Seeing how upset Adrienne was, Barbara changed the subject, "So tell 
me more 
about them."

"Well, Willow was the first one I met, you'd like her, she can hack 
into 
anything, well just about," Adrienne smiled knowing that Oracle keep 
constant vigil on the Watchtowers computer files, "plus she's a 
witch, a 
pretty powerful one at that, she just needs to practice."

"Buffy's the older Slayer, she takes everything that's thrown at her 
and 
bottles it up, she's a leader, a lot like the Bat," she smirked, "but 
the 
heart of the group is Willow."

"How's that?"

"Well call it the romantic in me but everyone, in some form or 
fashion looks 
to her, I guess you could say that it's her innocence that their 
fighting 
for. Through everything that's she's gone through she seems to keep 
a 
positive look on things, and I think Buff's in love with her."

Shaking her head at Adrienne she chuckled and said, "Okay who else."

"Xander, he's completely 100% a normal human, no powers, no real 
skills, 
although with training he could contribute more to the team than 
jokes and 
doughnuts. Anya is a former vengeance demon, her specialty was 
unfaithful 
men, go figure she falls for Xander, she still has a few things to 
learn, 
such as tact but she's doing quite well. Giles is the father figure, 
fired 
because of his love for the Slayer he's done everything he can to 
help her 
fight not only to win but to live as well."

"You said that there were two Slayers?"

"Yeah, Faith."

"Ooh, sounds like someone's got the hots for the younger Slayer," 
Barbara 
teased, watching Adrienne blush.

"Ha ha laugh it up," Adrienne groused.

"Come on tell me about her," Barbara prodded wondering what it was 
that had 
caught her friends attention.

"She's, well to understand you have to go back to when Buffy was 
fighting 
the Mayors' Ascension. Through a twist of fate Faith joined up with 
the 
Mayor after accidentally killing a man who really shouldn't have been 
in a 
dark ally knowing there were vampires there."

"How would he know, from what you've told me the entire town is in 
denial," 
Barbara asked confused.

"He was the Mayors' assistant, the Deputy Mayor, he knew everything, 
it 
makes sense to think that he was going to try to give the Slayers a 
heads up 
on the Ascension thing. But in the heat of battle Faith killed him, 
she 
later tried to cover up her mistake by dumping the body and blaming 
Buffy."

"So how come she's in the group now?" Barbara asked upset wanting to 
know 
everything.

"Well before the battle, Buffy and Faith fought, resulting in Faith 
getting 
put into an eight month coma, when she woke up, the Mayor had been 
defeated 
but had left her a little present, something that could switch 
bodies."

"Let me guess, Buffy."

"Oh yeah, let me tell you Buffy was less than pleased when she found 
out 
what Faith had done while in her body, slept with Buffy's boyfriend," 
Barbara raised her eyebrow at that, "I'll get to that later, but 
anyways 
after getting switched back Faith went to LA and sought sanctuary 
with 
Angel, Buffy's ex and a souled vampire ."

"Geez, she's been around," Barbara muttered.

Clearing her throat to get Barbara's attention again she 
continued, "To make 
an already long story short she confessed to her crimes old and new 
and was 
sent to prison, after a few months she was taken out and retrained 
and given 
another chance, they offered to let her slay anywhere in the world, 
but she 
chose to go back to Sunnydale and try to make amends."

"So they just took her back?" Barbara said doubtfully.

"No, they didn't, it wasn't until she nearly lost her life fighting a 
demon 
who had managed to capture Willow," she smiled at Barbara, "and with 
Willows' backing she was accepted back. It took awhile but they're 
getting 
along just fine now."

"Nice group, so what you had told me about Buffy's mother and sister 
was 
correct?"

"Yeah," Adrienne said.

"Looks like they'll figure out that they need you, even if it takes 
them a 
while, I wouldn't worry. Besides `I know you' you'll watch out for 
them 
without them even knowing it if they don't accept your help."

"I'll see you later I've got to study for a test."

"Bye." Barbara said to an empty room.

"Hey Faith you going to the Bronze?" Buffy asked.

Shrugging Faith answered, "Sure why not."

The two Slayers were sparing passing the time before they had to go 
to the 
Bronze, with Willow studying for a test Xander and Anya out somewhere 
and 
Mac, Adrienne gone they were the only two at Giles'.

"So, you still crushing on Adrienne?" Buffy asked ducking a back kick.

"Who's crushing B?" Faith said nearly faltering.

"Oh come on, I noticed how anxious you were when her mom was here."

"Whatever," Faith said.

Blocking a right hook Buffy asked, "So what, now that she's got 
superpowers 
you can't crush?"

"Oh so you and the others still hang with her, huh?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You guys have been trying to get away from her since you found out."

"Okay let's stop," Buffy said relaxing her position and heading to 
her 
bottled water.

Following her Faith continued, "Gotta tell ya B, superpowers or not 
that's 
gotta hurt."

"Yeah," Buffy agreed sitting down, "we don't mean to but it's 
strange, you 
know?"

"How is it different from us?" Faith asked, "I mean yeah, okay you 
were 
right about the crush, and that hasn't really changed, but still?" 
she 
shrugged her shoulders.

"What does she need with us?" Buffy asked looking at Faith, both 
knowing 
that fit with both their positions.

"Yeah," Faith said looking desolate.

"Well, we need to make it up to her," Buffy said.

"How? Throw her a party, `Hey you've got superpowers, have cake?'"

Wincing Buffy shook her head, "Maybe just inviting her to join more 
often, 
and apologizing, trust me there's no getting around that."

Agreed the two continued to spar, then headed their separate ways to 
get 
ready for the Bronze.

Entering her room Buffy saw Willow already dressed and ready to 
go, "Hey 
Wills, I'm just gonna shower and get dressed," before she left to do 
that 
she added, "where's Adrienne, she's coming right?"

Buffy couldn't remember if they had invited her, and felt guilty.

"I'm not sure, but we could stop by at her room to ask her."

"Okay, and we'll tell her," Buffy agreed.

After her shower Buffy told Willow about what the two Slayers had 
discussed 
and about Faiths' apparent crush and dilemma. When the two arrived 
at 
Adrienne's room and knocked no one answered, knocking again the two 
were 
startled when a fellow student asked from behind them.

"If you're looking for Adrienne, she's not here."

"Do you know where she is?" Willow asked.

"Yeah, she's at the library, something about a history paper," the 
guy said.

"I'll see you at the Bronze, okay?" Buffy said to Willow.

"Going to the Bronze, it's open mic night," the guy said leaving the 
two.

"No way Buffy," Willow objected, "I'm coming with you, I feel bad 
too."

"Okay, let's go."

Once at the library the two located Adrienne at one of the corner 
tables 
surrounded by various thick books. Adrienne was wearing headphones 
with the 
music blaring loud enough for the two friends to hear.

Tapping Adrienne on the shoulder they waited for her to take off her 
headphones and turn to them.

"Hey," Adrienne said she was surprised to see them.

Suddenly thinking that there must be some kind of emergency she 
asked, "Hey 
is something up? Do you need me to do something?"

"Only hang with us at the Bronze," Buffy said, "look I know we've 
been jerks 
to you but we really just needed time to deal, so what do you say?"

Looking back at her notes she turned back reluctantly, "I've really 
got to 
finish these notes for my paper."

"Why don't you speed through it," Willow said pulling on her resolve 
face, 
"come on we know you want to."

Smiling Willow waited for her answer, turning to Buffy and seeing a 
cute 
little pout she just had to give in.

"Okay," she relented feeling happy that they got over her secret 
life, "give 
me five minutes, it would be less but it's supposed to be a long 
paper."

Waiting the two were amazed at another show of their friends powers. 
True 
to her word she finished in time and put her books and notes up.

"You realize we're jealous, right?" Buffy said.

"Well you are," Willow countered, she liked working.

Smiling the three headed off to the Bronze.

Once there the sat at a table but couldn't see the stage because of 
the 
crowd. It only took a few minutes for Anya and Xander to show up. 
So far 
the only one missing was Faith.

"So," Xander began, "now that you're one of us, you have to publicly 
humiliate yourself."

"Oh," she said with a bemused expression on her face.

"Oh yes," Willow said enthusiastically, "we even got Giles up there 
once, it 
was so much fun!"

"Giles?"

"If I had to do it you better do it," Anya said.

"What are you gonna do?" Adrienne asked.

Not having an answer Anya stopped to think about that.

"I'll do it," she said, "any requests?"

"It's all good," Xander replied.

Leaving the table Adrienne disappeared in the crowd. Minutes later 
Faith 
showed up her eyes scanning the crowd for Adrienne.

"Hey," she said sitting down, "where's Adrienne?"

"She's here," Buffy said.

"She come with you?" Faith asked.

"Yeah she's gonna .."

A guy at the stage interrupted Buffy before she could say 
anything, "Hey 
guys! Welcome to the Bronzes' Open Mic night, I hope to hearing from 
alot 
of you regulars and some of ya first timers too. So give it up for 
our 
first victim, er well you know what I mean!"

The group moved so they could see the stage and finally spotted 
Adrienne. 
Willow nudged Buffy and nodded in Faith's direction. Buffy looked at 
the 
younger Slayer with a smile on her face, she was trying to hide what 
she was 
feeling.

"Um Faith," Buffy said teasing, "if you start to drool I'll be forced 
to 
remove you from the premises."

"Shut up!" Faith said not wanting them to see how embarrassed she 
felt.

Scowling at them she turned her attention back to the stage. The 
background 
music began to play, she had chosen `Everything is Everything' by 
Lauryn 
Hill, the crowd started dancing and enjoying themselves. Then they 
heard 
her sing, she was great.

"Wow," Willow said, "she's good!"

"Who knew she could sing," Xander said moving with the music.

"She can do everything else," Anya said unimpressed.

Reprimanding her before Faith re-arranged her face Buffy said, "Hey 
cool it! 
We all haven't been the best of friends so we owe her, be nice."

Leaving the table Faith moved to the dance floor and began to dance 
close to 
the stage. Many of the guys there gravitated towards her and she 
allowed it 
simply because she had nothing better to do.

>From her position on center stage Adrienne watched as Faith danced 
surrounded by various guys, she was extremely jealous of every guy 
near her. 
Her hooded eyes traveled the length of Faiths' body, the look on 
her face 
as she danced was arousing, briefly she wondered if what she would 
look 
like as she orgasmed, flushed half-lidded eyes burning with desire.

'Man I've got it bad,' she thought ruefully.

She was going to take this slow, she had seen many doomed romances 
burn into 
cold ashes. Faith deserved better, she just hoped that she would be 
the one 
to prove it. Focusing on the music she finished.

Stepping off the stage the next person started singing O-
Towns' 'Liquid 
Dream'. Wanting to sit she headed towards the group and was soon 
dragged 
back out by Faith.

Aparently Faith didn't want to go slow, Adrienne thought, the third 
song was 
a slow one and romantic.

The duet were not that bad and were actually doing justice to the 
song, 
'Crazy' by K-Ci & Jojo.

She could feel all the eyes watching them, maybe there was some of

father in her after all, she would take this slow. Even in the face

temptation like Faith moving closer to her and rubbing her body

Aparently there were lots of couples in the house tonight the dance

The song ended and four more sung other more up-beat songs. Finally 
not 
being able to put off talking to the gang anymore, Adrienne made her 
way to 
the table. When they were through they waited during the break for 
another 
chance.

"So what did you guys think?"

"You were great," Willow said.

"Thanks. I'll have to remember to thank Kyana, one of my teachers 
from the 
Island," she said as if talking about her other life was a normal 
thing.

"What did she teach?" Xander asked.

"Music. Hey guys, look I know that you guys are a bit uncomfortable 
with me 
right now but you guys are my friends, I want you to know that I'm 
here if 
you still want me."

"Look, Adrienne," Buffy began, "it's just gonna take a little time to 
get 
used to it okay, I mean hey we have Slayers, witches, and ex-
vengeance 
demons here, you'll fit right in."

"Thanks."
