Oh - I think you made perfect sense Regina. Willow has experienced both sides of the coin so to speak. She has been the epitomy of all that is good on the show...and she has also embraced the dark side. Buffy has shown in the past that she is attracted to the darkness in others because she suppresses it in herself. With Willow however she wouldn't have to do that. Her relationship with Willow has proven to be the most healthy as they've been able to share some of their darkest secrets with each other and help each other move past those problems. In other words, their relationship is multi-dimensional. I think you are right...Willow is logically the happy medium!!
Ok...now I'm going to make some very vague speculations about the end of the season.. vague reference to BSD and Big Bad included: Some of the speculation relates to recent spoilers that have been running rampant lately.

One thing that frightens me about last night ep, however. I have a fear that they are making the Scooby gang closer because their going to rip them apart in the future. That seems to be M.E.'s past record anyway. I also feel like thats why they're making the Tara character have more depth. I'm just speculating as to what the finale will bring but I think the last shot composed of Willow, Xander, Dawn, Tara and Buffy is somewhat of a forshadowing. Something is going down with the core Scoobs....I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Its clear that they're trying to bring about some sort of a reconciliation between W/T....that coupled with Tara's new found independence...and the fact that Amber Benson is not a regular leads me to feel that Tara is the BSD. Ok...in a B/W sense that could be good... although it would be better if Tara just left Sunnydale....
The thing that really scares me however is the fact that finally...after 16 episodes...they remind the audience just how close Buffy and Willow are and were in the past. I have always hated the theory that Willow will be the big bad..... I just hope that last night's closeness between Buffy and Willow wasnt' put there to make a possible rift in the core Scoobs that much more dramatic towards the end of the season.
Last nights ep did really bring about some cool ideas though. How believable would the following scenario sound for a fic for the end of Season 6???
When Buffy jumped off the tower...she didn't die...she jumped into a different dimension....this whole season could have been an AU season...that could explain the huge risks the writers have been taking with the characters: B/S and Willow's magick addiction to say the least.
Just a thought.
