My take on Entrophy spoilers

Spoiler space next

Regardless of what one may think about Spike, the conversation between he and Anya touched me deeply. They both discussed their not fitting in. That they both should have been dead a long time ago, but circumstances, choice or not, it didn't happen. And how do you relate when you don't fit in. And then to top it off, when you are supposed to be evil (according to society) you fall in love (we all have our own definition of love; if I am not mistaken the Greeks had six or seven definitions for love) with a member of society. Only the member doesn't love you back.

May be some have been lucky to fall in love and are still in love with that same person, but for the rest of us, that doesn't happen. As humans, society forces us to cope. As non-humans it becomes more difficult. For Anya, a thousand years of revenge, then suddenly she is forced to act human (sort of like Spike with the chip). And so you try to do everything in your power to fit in. When you think you've got it all made, somebody or something does you in. I can well understand the two of them connecting out of pain and sorrow.

Xander for me acted as he always has, Impulsive; regardless of his intent. Last night, he like society lashes out. 'We can do what we want, but we will decide what is right (best) for you. And if we don't like what you do (guess what's on my mind) you will suffer our wrath. Both Spike and Anya were up front. Xander, on the other hand, pushed the engagement thing, had he been up front and would have shared his worries about repeating both his mother's and father's hellish roles as a couple and parents. (Society rewards for staying married.) i never will understand why Xander wanted to get engaged in the first place. Anya didn't have roving eyes. They seemed to be hopping in the hay every chance they got.

What's interesting, for all of the complaints about Dawn this year, she was the one who acted mature and handled Buffy's exposure in a most loving way. Willow did the same.

At any rate, that was my take of last night. Besides I get tired of character bashing without some rational explanation. And Spike seems to get it. I find him a tragic hero.
