Well I actually saw most of the ep a week ago when the wildfeed transmission
got screwed up. But seeing everything on a 55 inch screen was certainly a
different experience from the computer.
Anyway, reading spoilers I knew what was coming, but I didn't know exactly
how they were going to handle it. And personally, I think they could have
done it better.
Tara and Willow spent practically the entire episode snuggled or in bed. As
much as I don't mind the visual, because I tend to picture a different blonde
with Willow anyway, to me it was so obvious that they were trying to cram the
smoochies in before they killed Tara in cold blood.
Speaking of certain smoochies, was I the only one who found it incredibly
amusing that as Willow and Tara are sitting in bed in their afterglow, Willow
mentions that she's thinking about Buffy? LOL I mean yeah, it wasn't in a
shippy sense, but come on, it was worth a little I think. And I think that
whole scene went to show that Tara really doesn't know Willow that well.
After she spilled the beans to Willow about Spuffy, Willow looked hurt as all
hell that Buffy kept it from her. She even said as much. And Tara proceeds
to tell Willow that Buffy was afraid to tell her because she didn't want to
see the look Willow was wearing. Willow wasn't disguested, she was hurt that
Buffy kept it from her! And that wasn't what Buffy wasn't worried about. So
Tara needs to take Willow 101 and get some things right.
As for Dawn, well she didn't annoy me at all in this ep, which is something
new. She was thrilled for Willow and Tara, which is ok I suppose. And her
laying into Spike a bit was nice, even if it did seem like she was subtley
trying to patch things up for him and Buffy. Ok, I take that back, she did
annoy me a bit now that I think about it more. But nowhere near where she
usually ranks.
So I guess that brings me to the Spuffy attempted rape scene. And you know,
alot of the Spuffy's were offended by that terminology when we first heard
about the scene. But that's exactly what it was. He was manhandling her
when she said no, screamed no, cried no. She was struggling with him
physically and he still kept up. That was an attempted rape, pure and
simple. If Buffy would have been anyone BUT the Slayer he would have
succeeded, because a ordinary woman wouldn't have had the strength to push
him off. I don't see how the Spuffy relationship can evolve into loving
after that. I thought it definitely seemed like the last nail in the coffin.
Even though Buffy admitted to having feelings for him, she denied loving
him, and after that little show, I believe her all the more, and I think she
believes it herself, I don't think the doubt is there anymore.
Now one thing that I am worried about is the Buffy/Xander thing. I don't
think it's just me, but I'm getting definite vibes off the two of them.
Xander is acting like Buffy cheated on him with Spike or something. He's all
holier than thou. Well guess what Xand, as far as Buffy knows, Willow is
still out of the loop. So to me that whole Buffy checking on Xander scene
was annoying. And what was the bit about her personal life not being his
business? As much as Xander was bugging me, that was just nasty. He's stood
by her side facing all sorts of crap, maybe not as loyally as Willow, but
there nonetheless, and now she's saying he doesn't have any business knowing
about her personal life? Sure he shouldn't have influence on who she dates,
but that was uber harsh. Buffy was kinda bugging me the entire episode. As
for the last scene, they were paralleling W/T and B/X, especially with Tara's
line about making up being the best part. So now I'm worried.
And what was with the reprise on the whole heaven thing again? I thought we
had that settled. And if she should be talking to anyone about it, her and
Willow need to discuss it. That's where the problem apparently lies, not
with Xander.
One last thing, I'm annoyed at the fact that Buffy tells Xander she loves
him, Willow tells Xander she loves him and Xander says it back. Where are
our Buffy/Willow avowals? GRRRRR
OK, overall the ep wasn't bad, but DeKnight has been annoying me all year,
and this one was no different.

Buffy:"I could wrestle naked in grease for a living and still be cleaner than
after a shift at the Doublemeat."
Willow:"Plus, I'd visit you at work every single day."
