OK, colour me confused, cuz I thought that what BP and gussi described WERE the current rules. Use the title SPOILER and briefly indicate what (ep) it is you're spoiling before the spoiler space. Am I wrong? I suppose I should say a word about the "Dan, close your eyes" post instead of leaving Dan hanging. I started reading a post with the descriptor "spoilers for Seeing Red" and halfway thru I'm suddenly seeing statements of the type "We know that Person X will perform Action Y, yadda yadda" and the persons and actions certainly weren't stuff from the promo for "Villains". Indeed, before my brain locked up completely, I kenned that they appeared to be spoilers for the finale. Frankly, I don't want to be spoiled for the finale. I've been spoiled some for the finale, but I'm trying to stay away from further spoilage, and the stuff I half-saw in Alnisa's post before I shut my mind down in horror and hit "Back" seemed rather specific and mega-mega-spoilery. I apologise if my admittedly incomplete comprehension was inaccurate.
As I said, my goal wasn't to really spoil anyone, and I don't really care that my post was delete. I do care that the post was delete improperly. Now despite all conversations to the contrary...
I'm adding spoiler space because I'm sick of attempting to make a point without referencing content of the original posts (don't worry if you've already read most of the post that were in reply to "OT: Ranting - Seeing Red - SPOILERS" then there should be nothing new...
S P O I L S P A C EI wrote a reply to a message from Adrienne Wright, which was part of a series of replies based on Spoilers for not only "Seeing Red" but future episodes. Now, I recognize that the Subject said "Seeing Red", but the entire topic of conversation was based on whether or not Tara was dead and would stay dead.
My point about picking in choosing what you wish to be spoiled for is in direct regards to that comment. I'm sorry but at this stage in the game we DON'T know that Tara is dead. We just know that both Tara and Buffy were shot. Those that DO KNOW Tara is dead ARE SPOILED. And that's the bottom line. So any conversation about whether or not Tara's death is final or not is a conversation about spoilers and speculations for future episodes.
Since the message I responded to started out with a comment from Marti Noxon from Soap Magazine, which contain speculation for Seeing Red and future episodes, and the majority of the post in that particular thread of conversation were in relationship to that detail, then as far as I'm concern, someone CANNOT be reading this thread of conversation, while stating, I don't want to be spoiled for future episodes. Because equivalently they are essentially saying, "I don't want to be spoiled about things I DON'T KNOW for future episode."
So yes maybe the message I responded to was incorrectly labeled, and if that's so then the entire thread of conversation should have been removed. Not just one message within the thread. But to state that my message was about future spoilers, while indicating that the message I was responding to was not, is disavowing of the facts, as well as lying to oneself that your spoiled free.
