Dan;

You have hit one of my major complaints right on the
head with the scene between Giles and Willow and the
use of magic. 

Again, it seems to be the major complaint of the
season - no one is interacting as their characters
should.

We've lived with these characters for 5 1/2 years - I
think it's fair to say that we know these characters
as well as the writers by now and wish they would
listen to what we want and not give us what we "need."

I agree with Kirayoshi about everyone acting like
spoiled brats this season. Total agreement! Instead
of helping Willow - Tara leaves. Instead of staying
and helping Buffy and Willow - Giles leaves. Instead
of talking about how he was raised and his fears -
Xander leaves Anya at the altar. Instead of talking to
everyone how difficult things are for her - Buffy
leaves emotionally and turns to Spike. Dawn - she's
still a kid, so I expect her to be in denial.

Instead of labeling this season as a "growing" up
thing - maybe they should have labeled it along the
lines of "oh my God, real life! Starboard bow! Dive!
Dive! Dive!"

I appreciate the suggestions for the series I'm
planning and your insights are fantastic - thank you.
