SPOILER: "Angel" vs. "Buffy"

SPOILERS for Angel Season 3 finale (I'm not sure of
the title; the US airdate was May 20.)

SPOILERS for Buffy Season 6 including Villains and the
preview of the finale.

Well, I just saw the Angel season finale last night. 
And if that was what they're calling a finale over on
Angel... ick. I mean, it wasn't a bad *episode*, but
it shouldn't have been the finale. Maybe the
second-to-last episode. I hope tonight's Buffy is an
improvement.

My real point is this: why is it that The Powers That
Be are paying so much more attention to the LA gang
than to the Scoobs? I mean, they're paying Cordy
fairly regular visits now (not to mention making her
first a demon and then a higher being.) And Angel
chats them up every so often.

And yet, on Buffy, where they have someone about to
become the Most Powerful Mortal Ever (supposedly,) who
is also Really Pissed Off, who also just happens to
have brought her best friend back from heaven by
calling on Osiris in a graveyard near the Hellmouth,
they do absolutely nothing (directly, anyway.)

Now, I can think of a few possible reasons for this. 
See if you agree with any.

1. TPTB think that Buffy is more capable of dealing
with her problems than Angel. Hah! I include this
only to show that I do indeed have a sense of humor
about the matter. (Hah!)

2. TPTB care more about Angel &co. than Buffy &co. 
This is possible, but I dunno. Like I said, it would
seem to make more tactical sense to pay some direct
attention to the Hellmouth-with-pissed-off-megawitch.

3. TPTB think that LA is a more important region than
Sunnydale. Again, Hellmouth?

4. TPTB are afraid of Willow's power. Ouch.

5. Willow going evil is part of their plan. TPTB work
in mysterious ways, the sodding bastards.

6. Some uppity-up producer decided that TPTB were an
important marketing point for Angel and that crossing
them over to Buffy would dilute the concept.

Anybody else have any ideas? :)
