I thought I'd pipe up once more on this topic. First, when I read 
the initial post made by Dan earlier (not the original post, I know) 
I was somewhat unsure of the entire meaning behind it. Now that it's 
been explained in more detail I can more easily understand what the 
issue is with some folks. I know there are 'ships that I prefer not 
to read about, such as B/S, or W/S, and there are 'ships that I'll 
read without hesitation (w/t/b - surprised?). To each his own.

However, the discuss of relationship dynamics, more specifically 
between W/T/B has been very enlightening to me since pretty much all 
my fics are W/T/B based. It started out as me writing them because 
there were so few available (at the time they were almost impossible 
to find) and then they drifted into something more. I started to 
enjoy the different ways that the three of them balanced and counter 
balanced each other. There is much talk of how Buffy = Strength, 
Willow = Magick, and Tara = Calm/grounding, but that's not all there 
is. The Triad offer a very interesting counter-balance to each other.

Willow's magick started out as a help but now her friends have to 
face it as an obstacle. Buffy's slayer-ness is world-saving, but now 
it's a burden (or has been/can be) and can result in some serious 
problems. Tara's initial insecurity or hidden family secrets (if you 
venture into early fics or AU ones) can also pose problems for those 
around. Those and many other problems that each of these women have 
to face helps to weaken and strengthen their bond together.

I'll admit to being someone who wrote Triad fic with one 'ship or the 
other pulling in the third person, but now I'm hoping to develop fic 
where the 'ship is not B/W with Tara, or W/T with Buffy, but just 
W/T/B. It's very hard to do and I hope I accomplished that to some 
degree with "Three's Company" as that was the whole point of it. Not 
to be that one or other was a "addition" to an existing relationship, 
but that the three of them together is the relationship and it's 
something that they each share in equally. Willow, with her computer 
abilities is able to support the family; Buffy, with her slaying is 
able to protect the family; and Tara, with her motherly and calming 
nature is able to encourage and ground the family.

I know I haven't posted much or responded often to fics that have 
been posted (I'm a really sorry but I'm so horrible when it comes to 
that, as RL likes to rear it's ugly head more often than I'd like), 
but this discuss has generated a greater interest for me to explore 
other variations of the Triad. B/W, for example. I did start one, 
but that floundered. So, hopefully, once "Four's A Family" is 
finished (if I can ever get back to writing it) I'll try a hand at a 
B/W fic and post it here. As I've posted two (if you count the 
RoundRobin) Triad fics here and hope to post "Four's A Family" when 
it's done, I'll focus on posting 3 B/W fics before I post any more 
Triads.

Okay, I have no idea if any of that really made any sense or was 
apart of the topic in anyway, my mind just decided to take a major 
detour so I'm going to take a break and come back later LOL.
