OT Fics/Threesomes, lengthy disgression

(This was going to be a quick note in support of BWT,
but I haven?t got the heart to delete it)

Wow, a debate that last so long its still going when I
get time to read my email!
To start off with my opinion: Any fic is a lot better
than no fic!
One of my favourite things about BWW/BLW is the
diversity of the fiction posted, and I have enjoyed
many of the more and less OT fics that have been
posted, including Anne-Lise's light hearted
experiments with Dawn, Three Years in Hell and the
various BWT and even BWX (not a big X fan, but the
story was good).

I find that the author is more important than the
ship. Start worrying about the BWT if we have too many
BW fics not before (and this way I don't have to go
looking for BWT).

I also suspect that there are a lot of writers with a
preference for a lighter style that find B/W difficult
to write post-Tara because of the difficulty in
writing out a character that well liked - BWT is an
easy compromise, and if plausibility is a problem,
well look at the competition - I've seen a lot of BW
written more poorly than most of the BWT (and kept my
mouth shut, glass houses and all that).

If I like the story that?s being told I'll read it
(eventually; life seems to be getting busy)

I read fanfiction partly for the insight it gives me
into the author's perception of the characters and
their world, the same reason that I read the
discussions (this means soon we will all know Dan
better than he knows himself)

Actually on a side note I've finally stopped changing
the plot of HV every other day (BW then BWT, then back
to BW with a 'ghost' of T; did I mention my tendency
to follow cannon).

Yeh, long time no update. Perfectionism kills. I've
fixed most of the timeline (if that's the easy bit I'm
sunk. now I know what I want I've just got to do it),
the story bears little resemblance to the original, or
the second revision; now looks like a two parts, maybe
with an short bridge, the first part diverging in
season five, ending with season six (W and B's
problems will be more subtle).
It?s changed a lot since the first idea (You think you
know, what you are... Mixed with what happens if an
advanced cyborg hits Sunnydale?) Because I?m perverse
I?ve decided to add another god to the end of season
five, not kill Glory, give Dracula a larger role, kill
off Tara (for no good reason), include souled Spike,
and end the world (and fought regular battles with
Mary Sue, still losing).
On the more popular side Joyce will be around longer,
Buffy won?t take the dive and Willow, Buffy & child
may get some domestic bliss (obviously the immensely
popular season six themes will be changed a little).
The last part based on "Summers' End", expanded to
deal with not just Dawn?s destiny but Buffy, Willow
and Joyce as well.

Funny how writing about writing is easier than doing
it (seem to recall Mad Hamlet?s cry of less talking
more writing). The problem being that my expectations
are rising faster than my writing skills. Maybe some
will appear soon or before the end of the year...

...or the year after that anyway

realistically,
