I remember a similar discussion taking place a while
back... made myself look like a bit of an idiot during
it too :( 

Anyways, to answer your question, her legal name is
Buffy Anne Summers. I have no idea why Joyce would
legally name her daughter Buffy, but that's what I've
been told on the subject *shrugs*
