tater,

Yeah, you could be right. I had read Buffy's pause when recapped the
part about the talisman to herself as realizing that she could end this
if the talisman was smashed (and Xander was searching in the girls' room
because that was as good a place to start as any) rather than her having
specific knowledge and telling Xander to get there asap, but your
interpretation is also supported by what we saw. And indeed, Xander
looks a little more like a man on a mission than someone starting a
search, so...I think you may be correct.

Of course that still doesn't cover the massive plot convenience of
having the (unseen) baddie who raised the spirits leaving the talisman
unguarded and in plain sight where Buffy could spot it and Xander could
smash it. Why didn't Baddie Whoever just take it with them. Or if you
couldn't move it for some reason--although both B and X seemed to have
no problems--why not stay and guard it? Because then there wouldn't be
an easy end to the story, I guess. (Plus Spike was still a very lucky
break, not to mention the fact that he gets sane for just a second so he
can pass the info on to Buffy)

Cas,

Actually, all I know is it's in the bedroom, not on the bed. But I'm
still good with the dreaming. :)

Jason,

more detailed discussion, later, okay...
