Dan,
well not everyone knows how to have fun, <G> j/k...

i actually always saw Willow loving Buffy for her Slayer qualities, the need 
to protect, etc... Sometimes we hate having to always be in control, 
sometimes we want to give that control up. Also, i can see Buffy blaming 
herself for those she couldn't save, having guilt and feeling out of control 
and feeling like she needs to be punished for such crimes she thinks she's 
committed. And she lacks guidance, which is actually what Giles, her mom, 
and her friends give her... without them she'd be lost... at least, that's 
my little interpretation.... and when i put them in the BDSM context, i see 
Buffy needing to surrender herself to the one person who can understand 
that... Willow was never in control, never had power (not until she went all 
witch fu... but even then, she lost control and began to lose herself...) 
and being with Buffy in this way, they serve each other's needs.... Willow's 
in control and giving Buffy what she needs b/c she loves her enough to do 
that...
okay so maybe i'm reaching, but its my little brain and its quirky 
sometimes.... *shrug* i don't know... i could try to argue this all day and 
still never get anywhere....

um.... don't think that joke was actually mine... was it?
i'm pretty sure someone else came up with it right after i used the quote 
for my signature... *shrug*
