Yes, it is a long time to grieve, but after two back-to-back losses I
can see it. And I can see Buffy waiting there, all that time, too.

Liked the idea of the girls relocating out of Hellmouth City. The idea
of a fresh life seems quite appealing. And I thought you did a good job
with the image of Buffy aging gracefully.

A fine appetizer. I'm hungry for more.

PS--tiny nitpick (sorry, but it's an addiction): it's spring semester
when Buffy transfers in. Not only is she "the only new girl" (surely
there would be more at the start of school year) but she's behind in all
her classes, and thus needs Willow's help to catch up. Plus she's
already sixteen (as per Joyce's comments in "The Harvest"), so we're
past her birthday, which is in January.

This doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the fic one iota, mind you :)
