Re: Alyson & Sarah question

>>The thing that gets me the most is that, in the FHM article recently, Aly
stated that the cast/crew of Buffy found out that SMG was quitting though her EW
cover/exclusive article.  That's pretty shitty, IMO.  She could've had the
decency to at least tell people face-to-face, look, I'm not signing on for
another year, so the show's over<<

You know, this seems to be the only thing that I happen to disagree with
everyone on this list about. In my opinion, it was Joss¹ FU that the cast
and crew found out the way they did, in the article. Granted SMG should have
maybe sat her cast members down and stated that she was leaving out of
courtesy, but I feel being the creator and supposedly the leader of the
show, Joss should have given everyone a heads up once SMG told him she was
definitely not coming back. Damn, we all knew for months that she wasn¹t
sure if she would renew her contract, and waited for her decision, the cast
and crew shouldn¹t have been surprised. But the fact that Joss didn¹t say to
the other members of the show (cast and crew) ³Hey Sarah¹s not coming back
so I¹m not going to continue the show² before the article came out was real
shitty of him. He was their boss, and essentially firing them, tell them,
don¹t let them read about it. I recently worked with a Grip who did the show
for five years, he said that it wasn¹t a family atmosphere in the end and
that none of the actors went to the Christmas party and people were just
ready to stop working on the show cause it was uncomfortable. Could be he
was bitter, but if it was true, I think a lot of things were wrong on the
show, and maybe SMG wasn¹t all to blame. There were other people who worked
there. Don¹t get me wrong, I like her but I¹m not a die hard fan, I cantake
her or leave her, but I think it¹s unfair to blame it all on her. Again, my
opinion.
