I'm just not inclined to credit UPN as full-canon information.  It's
like the Buffy novels;  ME had to license them but didn't put the
official seal of approval on them.  If it had been repeated in the
canon, like Jonathan and Harmony's last names (both "Levinson" and
"Kendall" first appeared in "The Sunnydale High Yearbook"), then fine,
but I don't feel any more bound than I do by "Anya Emerson" (from "The
Watcher's Guide, Volume 2" but discarded in favor of "Anya Christina
Emmanuela Jenkins" in "Checkpoint"). 

UPN's site was never known for great quality control.  They don't have
anything for Xander, who's pretty easy to at least venture a guess on.
Nor is there the slightest attempt to explain the "1982" date.

I still say typo.
