mike, I continue to be in love with this story and I think your Xander is quite 
believable, or at least that him coming to the realization is quite believable.  I do tend 
to think the dinner scene was sort of on the best possible case scenario end of things 
and that Xander in canon might have mucked it up a bit more, or perhaps, come to 
realization, admitted his wrongs, and then two eps later, backslid into asshole mode. 

But there's nothing wrong with going for the best possible case scenario either.
