Ok.... While I in no way, shape, or fashion defend
Joss actions; I personally cringe at the Buffy+Spike
shippiness. (Again, This entire letter is written in
MY opinion here. So all of you Spuffers out there:
Beware! Flamers are not welcome, though calm,
counterpointing is.)
Referenceing Doyle's death isn't as ad as it was
shown. Retouching on Doyle's Death (R.I.P. Glenn, You
are and will always be missed.) helped to give Angel
the booting he so desperately needed and eventually
fully recieved from Cordy. I personally liked "Hero"
as it teaches a lesson hat many people never seem to
catch on to. (No that was not a jibe at anyone, Dan.)
Namely, that sometimes, People Die. For absolutely no
reason (R.I.P. Andrea, Mi Imzadi), or sometimes wih
very good yet unseen reason, or even with a very good
reason yet still against all hope (R.I.P. "Joyce").
Sometimes People die.

And I believe that Evil Willow is entirely in
Character. Willow is far from Innocent. Not having any
Obi Wan or Yoda to guide her, she ofcourse fell to the
Dark Side... Ok... No more watching Star Wars before
nap time... Imagine you're Willow. You have access to
this font of power, seemingly vast and inhumanly deep
reserves of arcane Energy. (No this is not a "Gushing bout my own Substance
Abuse and recovery moment, that's never happened to
me.)
Suddenly, people seem to harp on your use, wrong
though it was and right when you're cleaned up, flying
straight(No giggles please.), and back with your love.
When out of the blue, two shots are fired, killing
your love and reason for your upward climb and almost
killing your Best Friend. I'm reasonably certain that
Evil-Veiny-Borrowed-My-Coat-From-Christopher-Walken's-The-Prophecy-Character-Willow
Simply never left the first stage of Grief, ANGER. "Wild at Heart" True, she does seem to not be able
to fulfill her actions, but that is simply because
that finding Oz with Veruca the Morning after wouldn't
push her over the line. The love she felt for Oz was
sronger than the anger. The pain of that betrayal
burns long, but lower than say, when an Egomaniac's
stray bullet flies through your girlfriend. Betrayals
like that pass, it may forever alter your
relationship, maybe passed resolution, but the
relationship canstill be there.
Raise your hand if you think I'm posturing and
prattling on like I think I am.
Boiled down, "Evil Willow" still is the "Show's Avatar
of Essential Humanity" showing that every Human has a
breaking point. If anything, it makes Willow more
real. because a character who never changes, who never
evolves, is stale, boring and wholly deserving of a
9mm behind the ear. Everyone else (who survived.)
elvolved in some way. Buffy... became more of a
preachy bitch, but then, it's her show and... J/K.
Buffy Died, came back, and matured enough to takeover
care of her sister, instead of relying on Giles. Giles
who became less of a resrained Traver's puppet and
ofund a balance to his Watcher side, and Ripper. Xander simply grew up yet kept a good deal of his
innocence and good nature. even Spike evolved... to a
degree.
Willow simply went through a heightened grief cycle.
learning to abandon her Dark Side (that's the last SW
reference, I promise.) and step into the light.
The Finale did not suck. nor was it a flaming hunk of
whatever... The awakening of the Slayers may ave been
a bit unexpectd, but that's the point, a hole new
world to write and imagine about. Thousands of
Slayers, plenty of opportunity for new evil slayers,
lone wolf Slayers, Psychotic Slayers, fat Slayers,
skinny Slayers, Slayers who climb on rocks. you name
it.
With Ao knows howmany Hellmouths out there, No stable
Watcher's Council, Angel' team supposedly going dark,
I'm glad that General Buffy has her army. And I agree,
Sunnydale's going the way of every house of cards my
older brother has ever seen me build, wasvery cool.
Though if the Hospial was empty yet still stocked,
what about Sunnydale First National Bank? Or did
someone see an armored car in the mad dash to Evac
scenes prior to the collapse?
On to Angel. An if anyone is STILL reading this, keep
in mind, this is MY opinion and probably not yours.

I like where they are taking this, while the show
seems a tad mired, it reflects that the characters
seem mired in their own lives. Every "Fellowship" gets
fractured and spread out after a while, eventually
leading to a renewal of the original groups dynamic. Gunn is becoming more of aware of himself, more
comfortable with his new road, And I like him with
Gwen; that's a pairing I never saw coming. Fred is stuck in R&D and I agree, needs to get out
more away from her cave and back to getting with Wes.
Wes is definitely on his way through his own grief and
I hope that Fred will help him out of it.
Lorne's character does seem tobe the most off track,
but he's been diving into the entertainment side of
the firm and it'll be a bitch and a third to get him
out. Angel seems to be getting bak on track, the Doyle/Cordelia boot to the ass just might work. Though Linsey obviously wasn't the big bad this season, it leaves the question of just who will be. Spike meanwhile, is still adjusting to his "selfless
hero" role and maybe realizing that being the
righteous hero will will be it's own reward and not
just sticking it to Angel.

I can't believe I just used the whole "Justice is it's
own reward" cliche'... I need to be shot. Of course, I
have nothing to worry, as noone else is reading this
anymore So....

MacBeth's List of Shows

1: Andromeda - Not completely bad. great FX,
moderately ok story lines, Excellent casting.
2: Mutant X - A godawful excuse for an X-Men Ripoff.
'Nuff Said.
3: Stargate SG1 - Great stuff, Though I will miss
Rothery's Character. I always loved Janet.
4: Law & Order - The originalis still cool, SVU is
gripping and excellent, CI however, is getting
predictable and stale. 5: Smallvile - Alot of people claim this is simply a
gimicky Dawson's Creek. I disagree, I like it. nothing
else to say. 6: Enterprise - I love this show, I hate it's
timeslot, but I love this show.

On a final (yes, I can hear all those "It's about
F*&$ing time") I never really liked the S/B pairing as
it seemed like the writer's were simply reaching
conveniently for the nearest male figure for Buffy to
latch onto. I realize that B/W will never be Canon and
I'm comfortable with that. But I have always been a
follower of Buffy and Angel. That's a classic,
forbidden love and I still hold a candle for it.
Although with Sarah being a collossal Ego-Bitch I
think my candle is flickering.
