sorry, I can't NOT pick at it:
I LOVED Season 7.
I was rather fond of it, myself. It ended the series the only way you
COULD properly end it. Didn't care for the amount of screen time
given to Kennedy (aka Riley Finn Version 2.0), that could have been
spent on Willow rebonding with the other Scoobs, but it wasn't enough
to ruin the season for me.
true, Kennedy is bland at best, and as little sense
it makes - if you think REAL hard about it - and as much as I tried to
prevent it to, S7 Spuffy found a place in my heart. about the only
thing I DIDN'T like about the season and all of it's truly EXCELLENT
episodes, was the abscence of Tara, be it as the real, resurrected
Tara or Tara as the First Evil (I think I'm the only one who likes
that idea).
Well, it was the obvious form for the First to take. I know some
refer to Spuffy, but they didn't restart their physical relationship.
It was important that they NOT do that. Of course, for the same
reasons, I thought Tara shouldn't have been willing to get physical
with Willow, again.

Just on

the only thing I blame Whedon for is Season 5. *shudder* thank god
Marti came and slapped him over the head, getting him back on the
right train
now, the above isn't all that useful for the discussion, except for
showing a different side to the whole thing
True. It should also be remembered that Season 5's ending was changed
for two reasons, according to both Joss and Marti: 1. Joss wanted
Tara for another season (Glory was going to do something worse to Tara
than suck her sanity out). 2. To provide a cliffhanger to go into S6
since the original plans for S5's finish were postponed.
I'm off to watching Season 6
Just finished rewatching it a few weeks back, since I got the DVD set.
Season 6 was when I started really liking Tara (Maybe it was the
singing voice), when she finally developed into something more than an
attachment to Willow. I realize some folks here hate Once More With
Feeling with a fiery vengeance, because it was what everything in the
rest S6 and, to an extent, the series, spun out from, but it's
possibly my all time favorite episode of the series, as well as being
the most popular episode among fans, in general. My arguements with
S6 were more in execution of some of the storylines, rather than the
storylines, themselves. I didn't care for the Drug Metaphor, which
struck me as an attempt to make everything a real life metaphor the
way it was in the early seasons. Dawn started to grow on me towards
the end of the season, when she became more than an intrusion suddenly
inserted into the show that we were supposed to feel was all important.
In fact, I'd say the single episode that damaged the B/W ship was the
second one from S5, Real Me. The canon basis for Buffy's and Willow's
relationship (regardless of what Sarah and Aly added to it with how
they played it) was that they were like sisters. That dynamic had to
change once an actual sister was thrown in. From then on, the kind of
scenes Buffy used to have with Willow, she had with Dawn.
