Probably the moment Willow turned to look back at Buffy after
the water fountain incident in Season 1, Episode 1. Reinforced
by the bench moment, and the encounter at the Bronze.
What more do you need ? :-).
Well, I suppose it could be asked: What makes it a potential lovers
thing instead of the just good friends thing with no physical
attraction between them or romantic feelings that was canon? What I
never got was how we were supposed to believe that Willow was never
attracted to a woman until Tara came along. With Buffy, Cordy, AND
Faith around, we're to believe Willow never got a tingly feeling?
Then, there was ME trying to have it both ways with Buffy and Faith,
saying they were sexually attracted to each other, while, at the same
time, insisting they were both completely straight and had no sexual
feelings for women, whatsoever.

Ah... we have the whole chip-enduced performance anxiety
on Willow's bed in Season 4.
Yeah. Never got that. Personalities just don't mesh, there.

Willow/any vampire really makes no sense (to me anyway). But it
seems to be very popular among a certain crowd.
Yeah, with Slayers like Buffy and Faith, I can see it. They're not
that far off, psychologically, from what they hunt, after all.
Of course, while I think Spike's pre-Season 6 Buffy obsession
makes for an interesting kink in the BtVS reality, it should
never have gone beyond that. Pairing Buffy with Spike was too
easy/lazy on the part of the writers.
Well, the romantic pool for Buffy was kind of shallow once the Riley
thing didn't work out. Giles was gone, Xander was committed to Anya,
which left, well, no one.
And bringing Angel back after Buffy sends him to Hell... the
only excuse for such actions was the Angel spin-off. Season 3
could have worked just as well without Angel.
Well, the redemption storyline was a good one, even if it did
complicate things.
