OT: Xander (was Re: OT re: "Popular" fanfic couples)

They gave him back his balls for four eps, the only time in four and
half years.  (And then followed it with "The Zeppo" v3, aka "Two to
Go/Grave", yet another iteration of "Xander's a total buttmonkey!  Oh,
wait, we know he's secretly cool, so therefore it's okay if we treat him
like a joke 21 eps a year!" Feh.)  To my mind, the brief period from
"Hell's Bells" through "Seeing Red" hardly excuses everything else from
"Amends" on.

Hey, I said Joss said it, not me.  And it's a Season 3 retcon, throwing
away "Killed by Death" to suck up to the Angel fans.

Don't see it.  In "Goodbye, Iowa", Anya worries that Buffy will make a
move on Xander, not that Xander's looking for her to do it.  And in "I
Was Made To Love You" Anya's patting herself on the back for "letting"
(gag!) Xander dance with Buffy seems more about "I trust him with other
women" generally, than "I trust him with Buffy", exactly.

Don't see it.  The opening conversation in "Bad Girls" seems more like
Faith worrying that Buffy will be angry/jealous about F/X (take that as
lesbian as you want to) than Faith checking out Buffy as a possible
rival for the guy she kicked out of her hotel room.  JMO, though.
