It's a learning thing... I used to do a lot of "talking head"
conversations in my fics... I think it's gotten better. I
started wanting to flesh out the characters and so far it hasn't
turned out too badly.

In my case it's an age thing. While I think Buffy was
cute/amusing in the early seasons/episodes I find the post-High
School Buffy a more complex/satifying character to watch (I'm
not really happy with the spuffy-ness of certain parts of Season
6 but I can live with it if it means more "Buffy time" :-)) 

Hopefully I won't make her too "good"/competent. That would be
boring or too close to Mary Sue-ish.

Thanks :-). There will be more... a few more parts over the next
couple weeks and then other fics for a few months and then I'll
get back to it. More or less... I have 6+ Wips right now and
it's hard for me to predict which fic will get the most of my
attention during a month of writing.
