And that isn't the only time she refers to Sunnydale as "down"
from LA in reference to her father.

If you're thinking "map-wise" - "down" means going north to
south. But if LA is the "center of the universe" socially
speaking... Sunnydale is "down" from there.

Or we could go back to the whole 'The Buffyverse isn't an exact
duplicate of the real world' thing. Maybe "LA" in the Buffyverse
is "San Francisco" in ours :-) ? Just kidding :-).
