Season Five. For the same reasons as you, especially in regards to 
'The Gift'. That ep, plus 'The Body' and 'Hush' remain in my top 5 
Buffy eps (the others are 'Dopplegangland' and 'New Moon Rising'). I 
gave up on Season 6 a few episodes in and never really watched Season 7 at all.
