Re: Fic: Mining for Gold (1/?) -- Buf/Will pairing

Hehe, I meant to put my standard "This isn't history
and shouldn't be confused as such" type line in the
disclaimer but forgot. I'll remember for the next
part. I do a bit of research, but as this isn't for
actual publication and is intended to be more for fun
I didn't check back on the little details. But
hopefully most people are so caught up in the story
they won't notice! If I were preparing a novel for
publication, I definitely would have researched it to
death, believe me. You should read my Aztec slayer
fiction, that one has historical holes you could drive
a truck through, LOL!

But I'm glad you like the story so far. Believe me
when I tell you I know exactly where it's going and
how it'll end.

As for electricity and running water, I assumed that
the transient nature of these towns would mean a delay
in such luxuries. I come from the West Virginia
mountains, and there are areas that still don't have
running water. So I stand by my assumption that up in
the Alaskan wilds people were still roughing it quite
a bit, especially in new towns, which Silver Springs
is.

Oops, sorry for the long reply, I hope it's okay to
post to the list. If not, I'll send my notes
individually in the future.
