Something I've noticed about people who notice stuff.
Everyone has pet peeves. Some people can?t stand spelling or
grammatical errors, they just can?t read a story that has them, no
matter how interesting the subject. Others have strong opinions on what
is and isn?t realistic within action scenes. They will argue ballistics
and angles and such until they are blue in the face. I?ve encountered a
few individuals who absolutely lose their minds when someone doesn?t
follow the ?rules of writing fiction?
And then we have the origin of this thread, the sex-scene pet peeve.
I find it especially ironic when someone who happens to be a lesbian
makes the claim ?lesbians don?t do that? or ?that never happens.?Maybe
it is because of the fact that homosexuals make up a small portion of
the populace that gives someone the idea that they can speak for the
group as a whole with any kind of confidence. One might be less likely
to hear some het speaking up and saying ?Well I?m heterosexual and
therefore I know that none of us ever do that!?
Guess what? Everyone is different, and anything you think ?just isn?t
done?? There are people out there who not only do it, they absolutely
revel in it. I?ve on occasion had FB from angry women who- acting as
though they to speak for all lesbians everywhere- take extreme exception
to things I?ve written; and then the very next email is another lesbian
or bisexual woman who is raving about how she loved the scene, and has
done the same thing herself. People are different. They have different
tastes, likes, dislikes, kinks, etc?
If you want to tell someone that you personally don?t think a scene is
realistic and is certainly not something you or your partners would ever
engage in? fine. Thanks for your opinion, have a nice day. However, if
you are inclined to offer your opinion as though it were solid,
unquestionable fact? Well, if I want your ?expert? opinion, I?ll let you
know. Bu-bye!
Speaking of what is, or is not likely- one would also be well-advised to
remember that fanfic, by its very nature, is all about fantasy. We are
writing our fantasies using well-known characters (generally from
someone else?s creative fiction) with whom we have fallen in love. As
another member of this list has already mentioned, we aren?t offering a
how-to manual of lesbian sex here- we?re exploring our own fantasies.
If you aren?t enjoying my fantasy- then please, by all means move along
to the next story. If you have some actually constructive criticism to
offer, I?d love to hear it. Just remember that your opinion, while
important to you, is not the Word of God, and you shouldn?t expect me to
treat it as such.
Yes, there is some absolute schisse out there masquerading as writing;
and it?s certainly ok to offer the authors of such ?work? some adviceon
improving. But, if they aren?t amenable to constructive criticism, just
let it go. Don?t read anything with their name on it in the future.
But certainly don?t allow it to make you angry or upset- that?s just
silly. (in my opinion)

Hey don't want to be rude but...[and, in those interests, a very brief
edit--Dan] ...im sorry but i kind of find your
message very deffensive, i mean im not saying that all the fanfics
are bad or stuff like that, im just saying something i noticed not
only in here, i've read fanfics since i was 12 (note: and im
18) and this is something i've noticed like ALWAYS! and i was trying
to find out if i was the only one to noticed it...and for me fanfics
are part of the imagination, and a big start for really good writers,
but when it comes to a general and real thing like it is the art of
making love, you should know what you are getting into, cause if you
know how to write not only that part but the others very well then
your story will be EXCELLENT! and it'll help you, it's like talking
about something on the tv and not having a clue what are you talking
about, how can you espect everyone to understand what are you trying
to say? well, just read, watch and learn about it and THEN, YOU CAN
TALK! that's it....and once again sorry the grammar in case i have
mistakes!!!....bye!
